The funny thing about KOK leaving is....

We're going to have a repeat of the long process required to replace the DC, which may just drive some HN posters over the edge.

KOK knew his stuff. Remarkable how many diff styles of QB were successful at IA. From Stanzi to Banks to Tate to Chandler. And it's not like there were a ton of "take-it-to-the-house" types of WRs.

I wouldn't be shocked if KF didn't see this coming. Just a hunch.

If (when) the dulphins QBs suck and do not show progressive improvement year over year, what are all you KOK-gobblers going to say then??
Huh, duffy-boy?!?

Let's not revise history, apologists and those accepting of the status quo. KOK is simply not a deeply skilled or talented coach. There is an abundant amount of proof of this, compiled over the past 13 years.

point being is that people were constantly calling for iowa to have a qb coach assuming kok didn't know what he was doing in said position.

now him working solely with QBs is great given he doesn't have to call plays....

this just gets better all of the time...
I think the main point here is that he will no longer be an OC. Sorry you are having such a bad day, Mr. foreign body part. Maybe if you pray to your avatar it will help Kirk find the right replacement.

+500 positive rep points.

I think people underestimated KOK as a QB’s coach. It is particularly hard for inexperienced college QB’s to run professional style ball control offenses. Especially when the running game isn’t exactly clicking and you're leaning on the passing game to get your running game more room . Things tend to get bogged down when the execution isn’t there.

That being said, I think the coaching chemistry often lacked something on offense. Too often Iowa’s offense played way too tight. Also, like many here I was also getting tired of watching the coaching staff have a collective brain fart late in games and in pressure situations. A lot of that was on Kirk, but KOK seemed to reinforce those tendencies.

Now we get to see how much patience the Hawkeye faithful have if the new management doesn’t click right off the bat.

So why is he coaching WR's in nfl if he is a great qb coach?
