The crowd

The atmosphere at the beggining of the game and then late 3rd quarter through the end of the game was down right incredible. I haven't heard Kinnick that loud in years. Bummer of a loss, but I really enjoyed the game today and the crowd played a large part in that

I agree. Amazing atmosphere, a ton of noise! It felt like a night game (it was dark by halftime).

Hats off to the fans in the stands. Sounded great on TV. Read in another thread that there were a lot of recruits at the game. Normally I don't follow that too much until signing day but hopefully that impressed the too.

I was there. Place was dead quiet in the first half. Second half it was loud, but nothing like Kinnick used to be. There were a lot of empty seats today throughout the stadium. Apathy has set in for a lot of people.

Kudos to those that were there...it's too bad you were not able to walk out with a W...thanks for putting in both the expense and effort! It was good to hear Kinnick rocking it like the old times.

Wow...no sellout with the conference championship on the line...that's criminal. I guess a team with a chance to win a conference champion shouldn't lose 51-14 down the stretch...and also lose to a 2-10 team...Iowa State.

Kudos to the team as they came to play yesterday, but with the schedule we had, not coming into that game with one loss was a travesty.

Let's look at it this way, if KF can go 8-4 with a win over Nebraska, he overachieved vs his overall record. Good year, right?

Were you there?

Why are you such a ******? You know what, I had tickets and flights (i live in San Diego), but unfortunately had to change plans...so I sold my tickets on Stub Hub (at a loss mind you because demand was low and tickets o'plenty). It happens.

Face it, there is serious apathy and displeasure among a major part of the football fan base and there is good reason for it. Check out the eyeball test...Iowa State, Maryland, and Minnesota...three games that were absolutely atrocious for a veteran football team. The offense has looked like crap most of the year, other than a few games where you ask yourself, where has that been? Yesterday was the perfect example...until we fell behind and had to change the offense, we were in our conservative, horizontal, ball control offense with little to no chance of success because it's predictable and we don't have a D1 tailback who can make that work. Yet we do it anyway and this coaching staff still doesn't realize it or refuses to.

I was the biggest Ferentz supporter out there prior to this year. I finally realized that it's "same as it ever was" in regard to the play not to lose (losing games against inferior competition) mentality. I think we can do better now or at least I'm willing to support a change to find out. Another year of losing two or three games we have no business losing (its happened every year he's been here) has gotten really freaking old. I don't think we have to settle if we are willing to pay $4 million a year to get a good coach. Bert or Bobby would come here...that's a fact. I'd take either of them over KF...in a heartbeat.

Personally, I don't buy into the fact that we are Iowa and we can't recruit well enough or better than we do. I believe it's time for a change.

Maybe there was empty seats, but you sure couldn't see them on TV.

So much of this post is opinion or assumption, presented as factual.

First of all, show me the evidence that suggests that the major part of the Fanbase is apathetic or unhappy. And don't just show me some negative post on a message board. Face it… The MAJORITY of fans don't post on message boards or put comments on news story articles. I too just that it is more so the vocal minority.

Secondly, all the experts said the way to win the game on Saturday it was going to be ball control. So if you're going to knock that game plan, maybe you'll need to also knock all the analysts who thought that would be the best gameplan/scheme for Saturday, as well as the cosches who implemented it.

As for the ol "Capt conservative" arguement, KirFer has shown this year (and to a degree the last couple of years) that he is willing to take some gambles. In FACT, Iowa leads the B1G in converted 4th downs. Not exactly playing that one close to the vest, eh?

And if you really think that Iowa is positioned to pay $7+ million a year for a head coach ($7 million is s conservative estimate and that is with paying a lesser known coach a lower amount), you are kidding yourself. Do you believe it a fact that "Bert or Bobby" are jumping at the chance to come coach here? You're high as ****, man.

Loudest game I've ever been to. No chance I'll have my voice completely back for a few days. Just wish the atmosphere was consistently like yesterday.

This is a positive thread you D-Bag. Get your crybaby complaints outta here. There are countless other negative threads made for guys like you. So stfu and get out

I can attest "we" were screaming the entire game....as I've lost my voice, again.

It's now 3pm on Sunday and just getting some of "it" back....thank goodness for acetaminophen, coffee and steamy-hot shower water!

My voice still isn't back yet. Tried to do my part as the last time it was this loud was 2010 Wisconsin.

Here is hoping that Nebby fans don't make the trip and Iowa fans scoop up some tickets yet and fill up the student section since they will likely be gone.

If the team plays with this focus, emotion, intensity against Nebraska it will be a fitting way to send these seniors out at home.

You are part of the fanbase that was "criminal" in not selling out. Don't blame it on me.

My husband and I avoided talking on the way home because our throats were sore from screaming! The game atmosphere was great.
