The crowd

This is a positive thread you D-Bag. Get your crybaby complaints outta here. There are countless other negative threads made for guys like you. So stfu and get out

Wow...another internet tough guy. Nice post you big bully. I was so hurt by your post I thought about not posting my feelings about the mean things you said. FU *******.

So we didn't lose to Iowa State? So our offense hasn't looked like crap most of the year? So we didn't get blown out by Minnesota in a big game? So you thought we were going to run the ball against Wisconsin? Ok...so you obviously haven't been paying attention. Name one decent defense this year we have run the ball on. Illinois? Northwestern? Great, great defenses there. You realize we haven't beaten a team with a winning record right?

Hey, I support the team, but the game plan to stay ball control and not come out throwing, and not the horizontal stuff, was awful in the first half. You can't let Wisconsin get a lead because they will then just keep handing the ball off to Gordon...regardless of down and distance. Gary Anderson trusted his players to make plays...even Stave. KF keeps guys on the bench that we need to play...like Wadley. Weisman fumbled...bench him? I know Wadley has shown ball security issues, but he gives us the best chance to break runs that help change the game...rather than the 3 yards and a cloud of dust from Weisman.

Getting behind in the first half cost us the game and not being aggressive with the passing game early was a big mistake we couldn't overcome. Even if we beat Nebraska, and I hope we do, 8-4 with this schedule and team coming back is not a good result.

Last time Kinnick was that loud was the 2010 Wisconsin game. Great atmosphere.

That game was great. I was going to say 2011 vs. Pitt, but only during the comeback. Saturday was awesome. Hope everyone brings it on Friday.

Why are you such a ******? You know what, I had tickets and flights (i live in San Diego), but unfortunately had to change plans...so I sold my tickets on Stub Hub (at a loss mind you because demand was low and tickets o'plenty). It happens.

Face it, there is serious apathy and displeasure among a major part of the football fan base and there is good reason for it. Check out the eyeball test...Iowa State, Maryland, and Minnesota...three games that were absolutely atrocious for a veteran football team. The offense has looked like crap most of the year, other than a few games where you ask yourself, where has that been? Yesterday was the perfect example...until we fell behind and had to change the offense, we were in our conservative, horizontal, ball control offense with little to no chance of success because it's predictable and we don't have a D1 tailback who can make that work. Yet we do it anyway and this coaching staff still doesn't realize it or refuses to.

I was the biggest Ferentz supporter out there prior to this year. I finally realized that it's "same as it ever was" in regard to the play not to lose (losing games against inferior competition) mentality. I think we can do better now or at least I'm willing to support a change to find out. Another year of losing two or three games we have no business losing (its happened every year he's been here) has gotten really freaking old. I don't think we have to settle if we are willing to pay $4 million a year to get a good coach. Bert or Bobby would come here...that's a fact. I'd take either of them over KF...in a heartbeat.

Personally, I don't buy into the fact that we are Iowa and we can't recruit well enough or better than we do. I believe it's time for a change.

While I can understand your frustration to say Bert or Bobby would come hear, that's a fact is probably an overstatement. Do you have inside information on this? I'd love to have Bob Stoops here but I wouldn't guarentee it.

No facts...just a presumption on my part. Stoops, well, he's more of a stretch being at Oklahoma...but Bert...you think he's loyal to Arkansas after a few years? I think he would jump at the chance to coach Iowa. Stoops would be a harder sell, but never underestimate what coming back to Iowa City means to these guys. Once a Hawkeye always a Hawkeye.

I'm not one of those guys ready to jump off a ledge, but in my opinion regardless of the coaching and the schedule we are only as good as our record says we are. Not a shot at the team, but regardless of what the schedule looked like coming into this season we struggled last year and lost our 3 starting lbs. We can keep talking about how its inexcusable to lose some of the games we have, but with the exception of ISU I'm not convinced we were better than the rest of the teams we lost to.

Are we disappointed because our "easy schedule" didn't produce the record we wanted or are we disappointed because the team simply wasn't that good. I honestly never put an acceptable win loss record on the season as I wasn't sure how good we would be. Just my opinion but if a team has potential but is inconsistent I find it hard to judge them based on how they perform against a soft schedule, when there are a number of opponents I wasn't sure we were better then.

Ummmmm… Did you just bring a levelheaded approach to a message board?
i kid. I kid. Of course.

I definitely lost my voice. I was at the 2010 Wisconsin game and this one. Honestly I couldn't tell the difference between the two. Both games I, and everyone else around me, were yelling like crazy. Pretty tough for a fan in the stands to tell the difference so anyone who says "I was there and it wasn't as loud" is just full of it in my opinion. I'd say watching the games on TV probably makes it easier to tell the difference in noise levels.

The game was electric, the best atmosphere in Kinnick since the last Wisconsin game in 2010. It was nice to see that again. If we would have won, the place would have been nuts on Friday. As it is, I'm wondering what it will look like in the stands. Hopefully fans still turn out and we can beat the fuskers for the second year in a row.

The Iowa State loss was completely unacceptable. I didn't think Iowa was going to win every game this season but they damn well should have beaten Iowa State.

As for the crowd they sounded amazing on TV. Props to them for showing up when Iowa clearly didn't most of the first half.

I was there. Place was dead quiet in the first half. Second half it was loud, but nothing like Kinnick used to be. There were a lot of empty seats today throughout the stadium. Apathy has set in for a lot of people.

Dead quiet in the first half? Hardly. I question whether you were really at the game. I've been going to games for 40 years. It was as loud as it's ever been. Don't let your hate for Ferentz cloud your judgement.

By far the loudest its been in yrs. I couldn't believe how loud it sounded on tv. Kinnick looked awesome after dark. I wish they would schedule us for some night gms in the future.

I agree with you. Caddy either wasn't there or his memory is shoddy for obvious reasons. I don't get the whole "Not as loud as it used to be" thing. I've seen people make those comments before on here, and frankly I think it's BS. Like I said, I was there in 2010 for the Wiscy game and I was there on Saturday. In both games, every single person around me was yelling. I don't see how you could debate a tangible difference without utilizing a device that measures crowd noise. People who make that claim by simple saying "they don't think it was as loud" are just salty in my opinion. As far as I'm concerned if everyone is yelling around me then.... well everyone is yelling around me and the place is freaking loud. Saturday was electric.

The crowd was in it to win it. Best game all season.

This was a great moment during the game

I was hung over by the time the comeback started against Pitt (I started really early that morning) but it was loud, but my head hurt. This time around I took my oldest son, so I could more actively yell without pain. It took a couple of days for my voice to come back this time. It was a fun game. I wish I could go Friday.
