Tenn. & Nebraska coaching jobs

This will be a big mistake on Frost's part. Recruiting to Lincoln, NE vs. the state of Florida doesn't even register as they're so vastly different.

Just like every big ten campus. He'll get Florida recruits. Heck some may transfer there. Bet he'd love to bring a qb or two

To some degree. But I've been to all of em (the original ones) and Lincoln is near the bottom of the list. He'll get some recruits for sure, but a lot of these kids aren't impressed by what happened 20 years ago...at least not enough to spend 4-5 years in Lincoln.

I think Frost will take somewhat of a risk going this route but for some guys returning home to re-build appeals and others want to establish their careers elsewhere. Can't help but feel impressed by what he has done at Central Florida but I would hope he fully takes into account all the factors that make this an entirely different situation than he has previously encountered. He played at Nebraska in the Big 8 or Big 12 and as the Huskers have experienced the Big Ten represents a totally different ball game in the need for strong line play and the fact that Big Ten teams play defense. He will have some work to do to re-build both sides of the line of scrimmage and to adapt his offense to what will work in the Big Ten.

Frost may do very well at Nebraska if he hires on there but this doesn't seem like any sure bet for either party. He would have some tough expectations and a tough fan base to deal with right from the get go. His connections in Florida will for sure help him but to what degree at Nebraska we'll have to wait and see.

He'll out recruit the 50 yr old 3 yards and a cloud of dust coaches all day long. The athletes he'll want won't be in lincoln. But hell get em. AnD some will be from florida.

I am more worried about his recruiting than his coaching. If ISU can get Florida recruits, NE can do it all day long.

I live 90 min from UCF...there are players all over this state. There almost zero D2 schools or Jucos here. Kids are dying to play football somewhere. Even in Lincoln.

Looks like a promising young coach, for sure. We'll see.

Scott Frost knows exactly what he is getting into. He also is an offensive genius which is far different than the ineptitude we deal with year in and year out. With inroads in the state of Florida, Iowa will appear to be a whole lot slower if and when this happens in January. We will then be looking up at Wisky, NW, Purdue and Nebraska and possibly Minny as rising programs in our divison. Thank god for Lovie Smith.

Not sold on Lovie Smith as a college coach but Lovie had a very young team this year that may get better in time. I agree with your overall point that we have a reached a crossroads in the conference with the programs we compete against on an upward trend. This program can't continue to coast on auto-pilot. Brian Ferentz I think gets that but not sure about Kirk. We have an uncertain future if we don't start gearing the program towards the future including winning over the younger portion of our fan base that we have long neglected. Interesting times ahead watching how we navigate forward.

The longer this goes on the more I think Frost is not set for Nebraska. He has other options and I think Neby may have options too.

Options like Florida State for example or Texas A&M - places which rich recruiting ground.

Auburn may well fire Gus if he loses the SEC championship game - yes that is true. His head was on the chopping block this season. That's nuts, Nebraska would love to have a guy like him - not quite as nuts.

Look at the list of coaches who turned down Tennessee. Those people may consider a Nebraska offer.

It's a mistake on multiple levels. He'd go to another P5 program first and prove himself, if he was truly wise. The Nebraska job will always be there when the next guy cant meet expectations.

Pretty sure the deal is already done. They are just delaying the announcement.

Ok and JH was supposed to be a QB whisperer. Got to see it before I believe it.
