Surprise Surprise the Clown...Mesa got it wrong.

Again, losing A&M only opens a door of opportunity for the Big 12. Unfortunately, no Notre Dame and Pitt...I was shocked when they said no.

Now Arkansas is a shoe in to join the big 12. That makes perfect sense for Arkansas...leave one of the top two most powerful stable conferences (and the conference money) in college ball and join the big 12 ( a shaky conference at best) and lose money. Makes perfect sense.

Of course the big 12 will invite BYU and they have been just waiting for the oppoutunity to join the Big 12. They went independent last year and joined another conference for their men's/women's sports just so they could join the Big 12 before they even play one game as an independent. BYU, like in the MWC, can't wait to become a team player in the Big 12. They dropped from the MWC because they didn't have all the influence they wanted; in the Big 12 they would have even less influence and would have to take orders from Texas. BYU should be announcing any day now.

The big 12 can probably "raid" Conference USA and (or) the MWC with no problem AND they can probably get Houston and (or) SMU. Of course, they always go after LSU...they would be a natural fit.

The article, instead of saying "could lead to major problems for the conference" should have paraphrased Mesa and said that "A&M leaving opens the door for the conference to now invite Notre Dame, Pitt, and BYU...a tremendous opportunity."

I predict REALLY bad things for ISU in this drama. After ATM makes their Jump I see Texas/oklahoma holding a press conference.

If that comes true cyclone nation will go defcon 5

The BigTwelve should no longer be an AQ conference.

In all honesty, the other AQ conferences should push that idea if they want to end this mess right now.

Stuff like this just makes me laugh. Why not? Should you revoke the AQ status of the ACC and Big East too? As much as people like to rip the Big 12, it's still at least the 3rd best league in the country.

Losing A&M is a bad thing. Lots of tradition with the rest of the schools. If I had my wish we'd just stick with 9 but I don't know how viable that is in 2011 college football.

3rd best league? At least? Lol.

It the beginning of the end for you guys. FACE IT. The conference will be a disaster when you go to 9 teams. Why would anyone want to marry a dead bride.

They could also mention that the bloggers at Orangeblood are VERY close with the UT prez which means their opinions magically become solid info.

I will stick with what I said. IF, and I've always said IF (and I even said Notre Dame wouldn't join a conference for a while) Notre Dame joins a conference it will be the Big 12. Notice the AD never shot it down in the future? Just said that they are committed to staying independent. Which is what I said all along.

I can't believe that ISU fans still think this conference is going to survive. Another scenario I have seen and I could see this happening before the "super conferences" is Texas says screw it, they keep their LHN and move football to independent status while playing other sports in the Big East like ND. That way when or if the super conferences come about Texas and ND have no ties what so ever to anyone but themselves and if these 2 stay independent (and to a lesser extent with BYU) the super conferences will never form to begin with.

The Big East would agree to that in a heartbeat to keep their conference alive plus the Big East has TCU now so getting Texas to play other sports wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Athletics wise the Big 12 is above the Big 10. Check records the last decade against each other. Check bowl games. Check basketball. Check baseball.

Um, yeah that was with 12 teams. Right now a 9 team Big 12 isn't the 3rd best conference when one of the top 3 or 4 teams just left.

It is absolutely going to survive. I know Hawk fans are praying/hoping/wishing that it will disolve b/c you think it will make you feel better about your life. But in reality they will add a team or 3 and be just fine. Not near the mess that it was last year

You always say this. What's wrong with thinking the Cyclones will have a better chance to be relevant in the Big East or another conference? I don't understand why more Cyclone fans don't want out of the big 12.

Honestly I don't care if the Big 12 survives or not as I don't have a dog in this fight, what I do find amusing though is all the clone fans with their head buried in the sand and aren't looking at what is happening around them.

If the Big 12 survives my life will be the same as if it disolves, I won't be losing sleep or anything.

Just looked up the definition of absolutely, because I figured I must have been wrong. Here is what I found.

"without exception; completely; wholly; entirely: You are absolutely right.
2. positively; certainly"

According to this definition, you should find a different word to use in your post. An optimistic choice would be "could." "Tenuosly," or "not likely" would probably be acceptable.
