Story: Maishe Dailey Commits to Hawkeyes

Here's a quote from Fran thru a university release:

“The thing that impresses me the most about Maishe is his overall skillset. He’s a multiple position player who can drive, pass, shoot, and handle the ball. He has tremendous athletic ability who can play above the rim. He can play an up-tempo game, but also has enough skill to play in the half-court.

“Maishe is a young man with impeccable character and we are thrilled to welcome him to the Hawkeye family.”

I'm excited for a lineup of Moss, Williams, Daily, Uhl, and Cook in 2 years. It's too early to know for sure that it will be a great team, but it sure will be fun to watch.

That would be a very fun lineup to watch. There will be a few next year as well. I'm looking forward to a couple lineups next year:

1. CW
2/3. IM
2/3. PJ
4. DJ
5. Uhl

5 guys 6'6 or taller, who can all shoot threes. Sub Baer in there somewhere too.

Our most athletic lineup would probably be.

1. CW
2. IM
3. Uhl
4. AW
5. TC

Probably not enough to shooting there, but that would be a fun lineup to watch get up and down the court for spurts.

Average athletic ability. Jump passes only work in high school. Average handles. We have plenty of guys that fit his skill set. We just lost 2 that looked similar, with similar high light videos. We needed a PG not another wing. Not impressed.

Average post.

Fran let Fleming and Hutton walk for a reason. You move on, and get the next set a kids a shot to prove themselves. No reason to bag on Daily because you got a hard on for Hutton.

You're the one with a hard on. I'm simply stating facts.
6'6 Christian Williams
6'7 Dale Jones
6'7 Nick Baer
6'5 Isiah Moss
6'6 Peter Jok
6'4 Brady Ellingsen
and now we add 6'6 Dailey.
Hutton is NOT a PG. Show me a PG on the roster or shut ur trap.

That's 7 players for 2 spots (SG/SF). We have 1 Freshmen PG that's not even a true PG in Bohannon. You guys are free to bask in the glow of another 3* combo guard. Some of us would like to know how this makes sense.

Flemming is not even close to that athletic ability nor were his videos.
We had a "true" pg last year and that didn't really do much. Why not have 3/4 guys on the court that can handle the ball and actually finish at the rim? Instincts and basketball IQ > a fundamental pg.

Don't hold your breath waiting on that kid to avg 10 ppg at Iowa. You might be disappointed. Jok is the only All BIG caliber player we have on the roster. I don't see anyone else that's close.

Im not holding my breath. Nobody was all BIG last year in the second part of the season. Give me some big athletic guards that play defense and get to the rim. There is way more to the game than ppg. Someone should tell Jok that

We don't have any of those.

I'm not "basking in the glow" of Dailey. I am not throwing the baby out with the bathwater like you though either. Reasonable people fall in the middle lightning, and you haven't been anything close to reasonable lately.
