For those hard core Alford haters(I know it is shallow) this is a daily double. First he looks bad leaving New Mexico after signing that big extension and second I think he is set up for failure. He will learn what pressure and high expectations are actually like. He seems like a very poor cultural fit for the bright lights of LA and the UCLA program. I am sure he will draw comparsions between himself and the last Indiana native to hold that job but Wooden had a small ego and lots of titles, Alford is the opposite. This will be fun to watch.

Okay, for the contrarian perspective...
It's a really good fit. The Hollywood types around the UCLA program will have no problem with Alford's act. He won't have to deal with the immediate community things that he sucks so bad at.
His style of play will work well with the types of players to which he will have immediate access. He got good players at NM, he'll get better at UCLA.
And the football stadium is about an hour away from the university.
