2024-2025 CF Playoffs

Trying to make this work under the current arrangement of 12 teams with 4 byes.

Drop the automatic bye for the top four conference winners.
Top four seeds by CFP rankings.
Keep the top five conference winners.
Seed teams 5-12 in order of their CFP rankings.

This time around:
Byes would be Oregon, Georgia, Texas, Penn State.

The first round 8 would have been.
Notre Dame - Clemson winner plays Penn State
Ohio State - Arizona State winner plays Texas
Tennessee - SMU winner plays Georgia
Indiana - Boise State winner plays Oregon

Not sure that helps a lot.

Drop the bottom four and have an 8 team playoff. That would eliminate the four blow-outs. Let the bottom four have a better matchup in a bowl game.

It's not a playoff game but watching the Miami vrs Iowa State game seems like the defenses on both side stayed home for the game.

Neither one of them should have never been considered in the playoff picture... Oh joy, Miami going in to try to tie it up 28-21 second quarter. BYU is another one of those pretender teams. As I type Miami TD, 28-28

The IA State bowl should have felt like a typical Big 12 game. No defense. I think the teams scored in 7 of the first 8 possessions. The other possession was a turnover.
