Stay Cassy, Kentucky!

Essentially a kid said "f that dude" after losing the biggest game his life. Get over it, folks

edit: just because you don't understand a culture, don't bash it.

The use of N- word within the black community has been divisive for years. Now that Black Americans "dirty laundry" has spilled out into mainstream America it has gotten complicated and messy.

He (probably) wasn't making a racist comment, but it still can have racist implications. The N-word "fans the flames", even when used by one black person to another black person. It stirs up ugly memories for both black and white people. The expression "That's so gay" was very often used in a totally non-homophobic way, but it still was innappropriate.

I can't believe the crap that we used to say when younger back in the 70's and 80's. You are correct, half the time it was stated not even realizing the true meaning. Honestly, when your a young child they are just words of phrases with no real meanings.

True. I remember the f-word(referring to Gays) being used quite a bit when I was kid. I cringe at the thought now, but as kids I(we) simply did not know any better. It isn't an excuse or am I trying to justify it-it was just the way it was.

I hate to rehash or bring up some of this, but remember the chants said when seeing who would pick a team first. Astounding. Embarrassing really. Really, we didn't even realize what was being said, it was just the way it was.

The fact is it is ENORMOUSLY racist to suggest it is ok for one person to say a word but not another person just because of the color of their skin. It is flat out blatant racism to be ok with black people using the N word but not white people. "He can say it because he's black" is a very racist statement. Only its racist against whites so for some reason its ok...

Doesn't matter the context the word is used or anything. Riley Cooper is a perfect example. He used the word in the same way Harrison did, only Cooper is white so he got crucified for it.

It is a complete double-standard.

In my opinion, the best way to minimize racism is to go back to the days where people said those things with no ill will what so ever and people didn't make a big deal of it. Now days, the term racist gets thrown around so much that it completely waters down what it means to truly be racist. I would rather a select few be called racist and make them feel alienated because they are such a minority, than have half the population be called racist because of the slang they use.

I don't know anyone in my life that truely hates people because they are gay. But in todays over the top pc world, a lot of people i know would be considered homophobes because they occasionally throw out a "that's gay". It really makes it hard for the truly stupid people who judge someone based on sexual preference or race to get singled out from everyone else.

I don't see anyone rioting or protesting or being televised on World News so apparently it's not a issue.Get over it, just wonder what kind of response we would have if it was reversed. I think we all know the answer.

The media and young left's PC rules are really just noise making so they can feel good about themselves. At the end of the day, it's all talk. None of it helps the people they actually think they are helping.

If the liberals of this country spent two minutes in a Bantam Hockey locker room... oh goodness.

Hmmmm. I wonder. Maybe he was saying it to the reporter asking the question and we all simply implied he was talking about Kaminsky?

No he didn't say it in a joking manner and i never said that he did. All I'm saying is what he said had absolutely nothing to do with racism. It's stupid to say it was racist just because the word he used.

Also was the word really born out of hatred, or was it just the word that was used to discribe a race and society slowly turned it into a hate word? Because society is really good at doing that.

He explained it was said in jest via a tweet after he said it.

Agree. I don't know whether AH is a racist or not, but the people here using this argument don't seem to understand what racism means.....

I also remember the f-word (referring to Gays).... but it meant cigarette.

lol....this thread is hilarious! Are some of you so far out of touch with society that you are just now learning that life isn't fair? It has always been acceptable for black people to call each other the N word, it isn't fair and it isn't right but coming on here and make a big stink about it doesn't help either. How about if all of us whites, blacks, or whatever color come together and take the high road by not making a big deal about it? Lead by example, not by what you have seen other people do in tough situations.

Best post in here.
