Stay Cassy, Kentucky!

I agree he didn't mean it to be racist however using a term that is racist when one race uses it is racism ya follow?

If Frank turns around and saids the N word even jokingly back shiz would hit the fan. IE: don't worry guys we are N____ so its okay.

imagine it being reversed. There would be Wisconsin boycotts all over the net... Kaminsky would be throw off campus...there would be calls to vacate their Big Ten championship...

Everyone expects this type of response from KY, but not from WI.

I agree that shiz would hit the fan if Frank said it. I don't agree that the term is racist though. Words aren't racist, intent behind words are racist. Racism is when you treat someone different based on race. Saying any word in a joking way is never racist if you're not doing it in a hateful way. Most people don't understand the difference because they're babies and need to be coddled.

Typical bs response. It is ok for the blacks to be racist but if a white person does it All the world come crashing down.

Guess I missed the racist part. He used a slur commonly used against black people ... against a white dude.

If anything, he did nothing other than show how that generation is deciding to cheapen the value of that word. which is wonderful.

but, hey ... feel free to get all mad about some fabricated "reverse racism" ... but you were going to do that anyway.

What AH said is not the problem. It's actually just amusing that he would, A say it on tv and B refer to a white guy that way.

The problem is the way this media machine selectively creates race issues out of certain situations for their own motives and benefites.

You are the racist using the term reverse racism.

Exactly, it had nothing to do with racism.
He (probably) wasn't making a racist comment, but it still can have racist implications. The N-word "fans the flames", even when used by one black person to another black person. It stirs up ugly memories for both black and white people. The expression "That's so gay" was very often used in a totally non-homophobic way, but it still was innappropriate.

If you really think he meant it in a joking/jest manner; than I don't know what to tell ya. He said "f--- that n-----" under his breath when the question wasn't even directed at him. I don't buy the cop out excuse that he was just kidding.

Sure, he was frustrated with the outcome, but that does not excuse the use of the language. People need to understand that that word was born out of hatred, persecution, and meant to be demeaning. Saying it with a smile and a positive tone isn't going to change the meaning/history of it.

No he didn't say it in a joking manner and i never said that he did. All I'm saying is what he said had absolutely nothing to do with racism. It's stupid to say it was racist just because the word he used.

Also was the word really born out of hatred, or was it just the word that was used to discribe a race and society slowly turned it into a hate word? Because society is really good at doing that.

Essentially a kid said "f that dude" after losing the biggest game his life. Get over it, folks

edit: just because you don't understand a culture, don't bash it.

the problem with the whole thing lies in double standards and rampant political correctness run amok in this country.

Yeah pretty much a true statement....

However I don't think Andrew H was calling Kaminksy a "n****" in the historic sense of the word...

If he was he be highly confused.

Maybe Frank Kaminski is actually really pulling off similarly what Eddie Murphy did back in the day. One never knows!

Kaminsky has really mastered his "white man voice" impression.

"What are you doing?"

"cough, Cough. I'm buying this newspaper."

"There's nobody around. Just take it, really, take it, just take it. It's yours."

"Cough, cough. Thank you."
