Gotta think Drew Cook either makes his way to TE at some point, or if he is set on being a QB, goes elsewhere?



Just what the doctor ordered...and I think AJ Epenesa could make his way inside when he gets to Iowa as well

Morehouse reteetweed again that Stanley is in contention for #2 QB...and if we get to next year and he and Wiegers are anywhere close to even, you have to go with the younger kid, IMO....

You would think a reshirt as long as there's no injuries.
 
Yeah, hoping they keep the redshirt on him. Only reason to pull it would be if CJ goes down for any length of time. Then you just gotta have the player who gives you the best shot of winning in there, and if that is a Tr Fr. then so be it.
 
Nice to see things clearing up with the QB situation. With Stanley jumping Cook that should be the nail in his QB coffin. He may as well move now and quit wasting time. I agree with those that mentioned Stanley should RS and only be considered for playing if there's an injury to CJ. No need throwing him in to hand off in garbage time. That's just stupid Wiegers can do that for peats sake.
With Ogwo leaving to focus on track I'd say that solidifies Boyle at WR for the forseable future. And honestly with Stanley and Wiegers and Mansel coming in he should just focus on it long term too like Cook should to TE. with Wisnewski being hurt for who knows how long it's hard to count on him. I kinda have hopes of Fant and Hockenson being a Moeaki/Myers duo part II down the not too distant road though... Maybe Cook can be the 3rd one in a year or 2?

I don't even think he believes half of the things he types so his 2 cents doesn't really matter much. Just a lot of hot air with one good prediction about Bowers mixed in.

Well his silence on it says it all don't it? That's satisfaction enough for me not that I cared if I got any.
I am a bit surprised at how soon Stanley has done this. Hopefully it's because he's every bit the real deal and not so much because Wiegers and Cook are not... That said at the end of the day I hope CJ stays healthy and Wiegers plays in mop up duty and Stanley redshirts. Then Stanley can be a 3 yr starter and leave early for the pros because he tears up the BIG. :)

If they are indeed that close where Stanley could pass, I could see Wiegers seeing the writing on the wall and potentially transfer for more PT. Wouldn't blame him.

Most competitors wouldn't leave when pushed. I mean no matter what the depth chart is after the season he will have a Spring and Fall to win the job. If anything competition should push Weigers to be better than he might have been otherwise.

If he is the type to give up as soon as he gets some competition, then I say don't let the door hit you on the way out.
