perception actually is reality. it doesnt matter how someone means something or intends it. it is about how people perceive what you do. you can mean something to be funny and it be perceived as racist/sexist/other. that is what sticks with people. simple truth.

I don't think i've heard that put any better. Intent doesn't matter anymore.
