Sokol could be starter for La Tech in opener

Cody Sokol threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to put a scare into Oklahoma, he was probably the best quarterback on the field.
 
Sokol and La Tech will be on CBS Sports Network tomorrow night when they take on Danny Mac and the North Texas Mean Green.

Is this going to be another Dan McGwire type situation where a star QB transfers and goes on to be a high draft pick?

Yeah everyone needs to settle down. If there's one thing Kirk has done over the years, it's develop nfl qb talent. From mccann to beutjer to vandenburg, year in year out we take the bottom of the scrap heap and turn them into nfl talent. You hit the nail on the head. Sokol was lucky just to put on an Iowa jersey.

I've been watching this game for less than 10 minutes and Cody Sokol just threw his 2nd toughdown pass. They're calling him "The Gunslinger"!
 
Stike that... it's his 3rd toughdown pass. I didn't realize he had thrown one before I started watching, too.

Yeah but Iowa's offense is far more complex than this simple playbook. And folks at practice said he was kind of a maverick at Iowa. Can't win with players like that.

This is is depressing and infuriating to witness. He's noticeably and substantially better than the two guys who allegedly beat him out.

You are such a moron. He's playing North Freakin Texas. Are they even ranked in the top 200? You have spewed your crap for the last 10 years. He couldn't break into the top three at Iowa and no, he isn't better than either of the QB's we have.
 
Sokol throws 5 TD passes in 1 game against a team that is from the same conference as La Tech. You got to be impressed with that.

Sometimes coaches and other experts can get it wrong. Just look how many NFL draft picks end up being busts.
