Sims and Johnson fight

No one seems to be saying much except the mention from Keeler in his column but that little scrum between the 2 after Reisners catch and run could be a killer for that team. Am I the only one that noticed? if its been discussed sorry and I'll delete but didnt see it.

I wrote about it in the article on the front page last night. I am guessing Sims blew his zone assignment, as he came up to the LOS

several mentions in thread and as JM states in his article.

that was just the frustrations of the game coming to the field. they were getting their *** kicked and nothing they could do about it. The great Sims and LJ got rolled and burned several times yesterday. Fun stuff to witness!!

Sims looked like the intigator of the argument, even though he was the one with the blown coverage.

And people were calling Sims as good as Sash. LMAO. He's not even as good as Greenwood. Got trucked by both of our RBs on Saturday and had multiple blown coverages.

Yeah he definitely was up by the LOS. complete blown assignment. And there is NO way Sims is better than Sash or as good. He has talent, but not where Sash is.

it'll be blown over not a big deal just frustrated players

his last name wasn't tate so it'll be forgotten

I'm sure Sash and Greenwood don't get to benefit from having the best defensive line in the country *****heavy sarcasm****

Both are great players. Love the way they play. But you can't compare Sims to either of them as ISU has one of the worst D Lines out of any BCS school and Iowa has the best. Those guys know that the QB isn't getting much time to throw the ball and can read the QB's first look and go

but, you forgot to factor in that iowa's DL was facing an OL better than even Iowa's from last year - let alone this year - so Iowas DL was pretty well neutered. Does that mean Sash and Greenwood are good???

Jeebus, you've gotta be kidding me. Do the excuses and reasons ever end with you guys?

One of them definitely blew assignment. I am not ISU fan so dont care. I would write off as emotional part of game.

Did we have the best D-line in the country last year...the year before? Sash has been doing this for 3 years, Greenwood for 4.

SO the fact that Iowas Dline takes a lot of pressure and responsibility off the safeties isn't true an the fact that ISUs Dline is terrible and adds pressure/responsibility to the safeties is false. Good to know you lack any football sensibility.

That doesn't excuse Sims from being unable to tackle, push out of bounds or otherwise impede Adam Robinson's forward movement when he ran 39 yards to the house. In addition to Sims' blown coverage, he was a highlight tape of how NOT to tackle in the open field on Saturday.

Regardless of how good or poor the DL is that plays in front of them isn't the point, the point is Sims blew his assignment (more than once) and Sash doesn't make those mistakes, that is the point, the mistakes made or lack of by Sash that Sims makes.

That doesn't change the fact the Sims and LJ - your two best players on defense - got torched repeatedly by whomever it was that they were supposed to be covering. WR, TE, didn't matter, those two guys couldn't handle it. Sims got trucked by Hampton at the goal line; what does that have to do with the defensive line again?

At least you got the first part right.

Based on what was said over CyFan all summer about how much better Sims and Johnson were than anyone in the Iowa secondary...you should probably have seen this coming, especially after both of those clowns got turned out like used gym socks on Saturday.

One blown coverage I can understand. But Iowa threw at both of those guys with great success pretty much whenever they wanted. DJK and McNutt both had their way with Johnson, and Sims wasn't much better.

Why not just admit that the best players on ISU's defense got their heads handed to them? Why is that so difficult?

Um yes he does. Guessing you never played or coached football.

That long pass to McNutt where he dragged all the way across the field could never have happened for ISU as they weren't allowed 10 seconds to throw the ball like Stanzi. Why? Because Iowa has a great DL and ISU's is bad. Arnaud has 2 seconds to throw and Stanzi has 6.

Switch Prater for Leonard Johnso and Prater would get burned too on that play.

Football is won on the lines. Iowa was WAY more dominant on the lines than ISU. It trickles down from there. It gives the LB's more room to make a play. It gives the CB/Safeties easier reads as the QB can't check down to his 3rd receiver and/or wait for someone to get open

I thought they were mad .... because they cared so deeply.

Rhoades is in trouble over there and we got to see the first public breakdown of respect between players at ISU.

Imagine what these dudes to each other will be doing later ithe season!
