Dw is just trolling but even so.

The kid even said himself until wildcats came in he was a hawk. When fran was on him for two years vs. Kentucky one month... that stings.

Sure theyre a powerhouse with great coach but there other things to consider. Playing time and roles. Rather be a star on a top 25 team or an energy guy on a top 10 team. Even that role might get over recruited.

With his size hes gonna have to be incredible to sniff nba, so hes gonna at least play 3 seasons of college. He may behind a few one and dones through his time there.
 
I am sure Fran will be classy and keep an eye on Ulis. Swithching his commitment or an eventual transfer are both possilities that would be welcomed with open arms.
 
Ulis has the skills to overcome his height and be the starter at Iowa. It's pretty difficult to say that same thing about Kentucky. They pretty much handpick the best players in the country. Which means Ulis will be competing with PGs who are every bit as skilled as him, and stand between 6'1 and 6'4 while also possessing an incredible ability to explode to the rim. Unless Ulis is some sort of phenomenon I'm pretty comfortable saying that Calipari will start the bigger player(s).

If playing time is a priority, which at some point it's gotta be, I think there's a decent chance Ulis transfers.
 
I am surprised that Cal gets so many of the top kids to come there. If he is selling that he can get them to the NBA, he is full of sh!t. He gets NBA ready kids to come play for him for a year or two, he doesn't take less talented kids and turn them into NBA players.....big difference.

He runs a system that allows his recruits to best show off their individual talent. He has no problem making freshman the focal point of the team. Obviously he does get elite recruits but so do UNC and Kansas and their track record with one and done guys can't touch Calipari's.

Ha! That's rich! UK whiffs on their top two PG's, so they swoop in at the last minute and grab a guy who says "relationships are important"...oh, and his dad is a Nike sales rep. Yep, I am the one trashing the kid here, no possibility of any shady business going down here.

Can't wait for Fran to give him the old "Thanks but no thanks" when he comes crawling back in two years.
 
I don't usually react this way about recruits who decide to go another way. I never thought this kid would choose Iowa over Kentucky, however for some reason this whole situation touched a nerve with me. Maybe I over reacted last night when I posted and it's extremely out of character for me to openly criticize a young player like this but I just can't help it as this whole situation has such a stench to it.

I personally just think that is over rated. NBA talent stands out like a sore thumb at the college level. Everyone knows who the top 10 players in college BB are If NBA were my goal, I wouldn't be worried about what school you are at, as players stand out, and NBA scouts are fooled by "system" players.

You have no proof whatsoever of shady business going down.

Why would Kentucky pay him off? I know if I'm Calipari and have a top-30 prospect practically begging for an offer, there's no way I'm paying that kid to come to Kentucky. Cal had ALL the leverage in this scenario; it's not like it was a guy like Jones or Wiggins, who have/had practically every top program on their heels.

A guy begs you for a burger. Are you going to give him the burger and then pay him to make sure he eats it? No, because you have all the leverage. Leverage is everything, and Ulis had none. Kentucky wasn't even looking at him until he/his dad started clamoring for the UK offer.

You didn't read the same article I did. It said Ulis' old man was sniffing around UK out of the blue. Hmmm, now how could a bagman for a Nike school get at a Nike rep without anyone catching on? Why, after months of talking about loyalty and relationships, going so far as to spurn other (non-Nike) schools, that he changes his tune and swoons for UK in six weeks?

Look kid, if you don't want to be a pup reporter anymore, you'd better learn how things work in the real world and start connecting dots here. If I tried to run a story based right now and all I had was your connected dots, any respectable editor would do one of the following: laugh his *** off, scream at me for 10 minutes for being so stupid, or do either of the two before drop kicking my *** out the back door.

Connecting the dots isn't good enough. Not when you're going after someone's character like this. You need proof.

I am not attacking anyone's character. I am demonstrating their character. I don't need to comment, because their actions speak for themselves.
 
Well if Iowa, a team with no NCAA wins since 2001, was in the running with Kentucky and MSU for a player like this. Fran must have been giving Ullis a rea$on to be interested. Connecting the dots it's not hard to see that we were $lipping him $omething under the table to stay in his top three.

You could say you were demonstrating Pierschbacher's character after he made his decision. In that situation, your argument was that his flim-flamming reflected poorly on his character. But with Ulis, you're arguing that his motives (which we don't know) for changing (before he was committed to anyone) reflect poorly on his character.

You can bend the facts any way you want in order to suit your theory. But that's all it is, is a theory. So you aren't demonstrating anything except a willingness to attack a kid's character for something you have no proof of.

Proof doesn't matter to people who deal in the shadows. As a general rule in life, and I came to this through experience, you can't hold cheaters to the same standards as everyone else. You can go ahead an protect everyone's so called "character", and I'll speak for the truth.

No, but it should matter to people who don't deal in the shadows.

Your argument is based on nothing but circumstantial evidence. And there's still one big flaw in your argument: Why, if Ulis/his dad got interested in UK because of back channel shady dealings, did he not hold an offer when he trimmed his list to four? Calipari didn't offer for several days after that.

Is that because Ulis begged for the offer and Calipari gave it to him, or is Cal just that ******* clever?
 
Coach Cal showed me what kind of heart he had in the NIT with all his 4 & 5 star recruits. That was a great display of coaching.
