SIAP: Ulis Decision Friday Night, 7:20 p.m.

No, but it should matter to people who don't deal in the shadows.

Your argument is based on nothing but circumstantial evidence. And there's still one big flaw in your argument: Why, if Ulis/his dad got interested in UK because of back channel shady dealings, did he not hold an offer when he trimmed his list to four? Calipari didn't offer for several days after that.

Is that because Ulis begged for the offer and Calipari gave it to him, or is Cal just that ******* clever?

IF Olympia Or Wild Western Michigan's theory is correct, they were already talking, so the exact timing of the offer would be irrelevant. I'm not saying OLWPAORWWM is correct, but the above is not a "flaw" in the argument.

Also, while the speculation without proof bothers me because of the seriousness of the allegation, what "proof" is ever present in these cases prior to full-on investigation with subpoena power? Dealing in the shadows is just that... an audiotape is not going to randomly emerge (unless Bruce Pearl was there) and no participant is going to confess at this stage. All these cases start with a suspicion that gets followed up.

The standard for message board user speculation isn't the same as for a journalistic piece. And in return, people don't take message board speculations nearly as seriously. As it should be.
