Ruh-roh Re: Delano Hill

I would certainly consider this a joke though:

The biggest facepalm moment in a season filled with them.

This is why we will never compete against Michigan, OSU of the Big Ten. He's the best of of our 2013 class - the only 4* and BCS level recruit we have. This will kill this class. But I guess that's football and part of the ebbs and flows. We will see if this recruiting class effects poor on-field performance in 3 years I guess. Oh well.

Crummy coaching and a 4-8 season killed this recruiting class a long time ago.

Whar the problem? This opens up another scholly for a last minute offer to an off the radar Eight Man player.
Ott was a 8 man FB player who played as a true freshman, also as I was told thru a email that Ott was named a Parade Magazine AA just like RB Hill made that list

Huh? The class as is was made before the season even started. One guy has decommited because his dad is coaching another team. Everyone assumes Hill is going to leave, but who really knows, nobody on this board. This class looks like a pretty decent class. No it is not at the level of 2005, but that is pretty much always the case for Iowa. People need to stop overreacting to this crap, it's pathetic.

If Hill does go to Michigan, I don't think it'll have anything to do with the season the Hawks had. It'll be because he's from Michigan and most players from that state dream of playing there. I imagine it's an offer he dreamed about getting but never did until now. If Laron Taylor and Ruben Lile had a Michigan offer, they'd probably go there too.

Looks like Michigan might be tiring of waiting for Leon McQuay to make his selection which he has said will not be until early Jan during the Under Armour game. McQuay is highly touted and heavily recruited by several of the elite.

So now Hill gets an offer. The below report indicated he was waiting for a MI offer early in the recruiting game but it never came. Hopefully he'll hold steadfast. A highly touted program and close to home is strong competition.

The M Block - Michigan Football and Recruiting: Michigan Offers Delano Hill

I think that is key, solid depth and good competition.

Draper is a cornerback.

Lile at FS replacing Tanner Miller and Nico Law or Delano Hill at SS that seems pretty good to me!

I think us reasonable fans can all agree that there is a 99.9% chance Tanner Miller starts at least the first 7 games next season.

Yes, that is definitely reasonable to think at this point. Anything could happen but I think most likely Miller starts all 12 games next season, 13 if a bowl game is some how, some way involved.

I was just thinking out loud, maybe Tanner Miller gives Iowa the best chance to win over any other FS.

That's football.

I don't see how it is possible that T. Miller doesn't start every game and play 98% of the plays. It's not KF's way. I'm excited to see what Lile and Hill can do, and when Law graduates in 2 years they could make a good duo, or maybe Law never turns into the SS we all want and we see Lile/Hill/Warfield move into that position sooner?

Found this tidbit interesting from M Block article:

"The Wolverines are definitely hoping for Leon McQuay, but should he choose to play somewhere else Delano Hill would be a more than serviceable backup plan."

At Iowa, he IS THE PLAN

KF will never bench a Miller to play Hill so why would he sit here and when he can sit at Michigan.

I just looked it up and Michigan currently has 2 safety commits (according to 247, both are higher than Hill), while also waiting on McQuay. Delano knows he has a seat on the bus here currently. What happens if McQuay decides he wants to go to Michigan? Even if they give Delano a scholly, he may be sitting more than just one season. At Iowa, it looks like he would be the next in line after Miller.
