When a school has the best recruits every single year they are going to put a lot of guys in the NFL. I've also seen people on this board say Kentucky is a good place to go if you want to get to the NBA.
That's because it is a good place to go. Calipari's main goal is to get his players to the NBA as quickly as possible. He's said so on many occasions publicly. He even said that when Kentucky had 4 first round picks a few years ago that it was the greatest day in Kentucky basketball history. Wildcat fans lost their minds over it.
He forces his players to play defense otherwise they don't step on the court. He knows that playing good defense will keep you employed in the NBA.
He comes off as a sleeze bag but I'll give him credit for being honest. He's not trying to sell kids on any bullshit college education nonsense like other coaches. He wants them in the NBA as quickly as they can and encourages his players to go as quickly as they can.
