Ron Artest

Absolutely wrong. That is what I thought when I first watched teh replay, and I really wanted to believe it, because I am usually in favor of watching teh mentally ill play sports, but Harden did not instigate this.

Harden was trailing teh play, took one step forward after teh dunk (He was teh closest Thunder player to teh inbounding ball), Artest ran straight into him, without looking, and swung, again without looking. The only think Harden should have done differently to avoid a head injury is to strap on a helmet, otherwise it is 100% Artest being a psycho.

Never give teh psycho teh benefit of teh doubt.

Harden intentionally bumped into Artest. He does this regularly, it was a cheap shot, but Harden was not a completely innocent victim, he was trying to instigate Artest a little bit.

That was an epic cheap shot. But any talk about today's basketball being rougher or dirtier than the 80's and 90's is ridiculous. Yes, today there is more hand checking and body to body contact, which I think is part of what slows down the game and ruins the beautiful continuity and motion that makes basketball what it is. But now guys drive into the lane and it is like the Red Sea has parted, guys back out and just flail their arms in to try to strip the ball out and end up getting posterized. You didn't get an easy layup or dunk back in those days, if you came into the paint you best better bring it our you were ending up on your ***. And for the most part you couldn't go crying about it, you just did the same back to the other team.

Go back and watch those Bulls vs Knicks and Bulls vs Pistons games from back in the lat 80's and early 90's, and tell me what Lebron would have done with the type of things that were being done to Jordan?

just like the NBA was in trouble in the post Jordan era and the current guys revived it again.

Colin Cowherd has this right on the money. The NBA doesn't play well in rural markets because a lot of people are uncomfortable with a bunch of rich black dudes as the face of teams/leagues.

Now explain why le Bobcats are completely ignored in Charlotte.
And don't say, "'cause they suck". They made le playoffs a coupla years back and TWC Arena was 2/3 empty for the series.
Charlotte is not rural honkies.

Because they suck. They sucked when they made the playoffs too, they didn't even have a winning record that year. They have never had a good team there and they have an owner who doesn't give a **** about the team.

Oooo, no, sorry, wrong answer.
It is because Charlotte is a football and college hoop city.
Thanks for playing!

Wow. What a piece of garbage. With what he's done before he should be kicked out of the League.

I totally agree and there are a lot better players that can take his place.

He only hangs around because some owners and GM think he can draw some fans. If the lakers cant get someone better than that then too bad for them.

I no laker/kobe fan and not much of an nba fan because of no-talents like artest still hanging in the league with their 28% shooting touch.

Artest was the premier defensive player in the league a few years back and can still lock down some guys on defense. That is why he is in the league still.

I dont think the Lakers need any help in selling tickets or drawing fans.

Artest used to be able to lock down any 2 or 3 in the league, at his weight now he can no longer guard any 2's but he's still valuable because he can bother Pierce, Durant, Melo and LeBron and odds are you're going to be facing at least one of those guys in the playoffs.

Isnt that what I said?

Actually, those early 90's hornet teams were decent, Johnson,Mourning,Gill got them into playoffs a couple of times.

As for Jordan he is a lousy owner, we kill Isiah Thomas, but Jordan somehow gets a pass.

So are you a fan of grab and hold, grind it out, isolation basketball?

Watch the replay again then if you don't think Harden drifts into Metta. He is in between the top of the key and the free throw line, right in the middle. Then watch where he ends up....right in front of MWP outside the lane....don't tell me that wasn't intentional. He did not have to end up there. He wasn't even going to bring the ball up. Westbrook is in the game. He could have turned around and headed back to the other end. Look, Harden is who he is. I don't have to justify that. Watch him play. He knew exactly what he was doing going towards Metta. Again, he didn't deserve the elbow. But make no mistake, he did not have to go that direction. That was intentional.

Quite the opposite. I am a fan of basketball where guys actually cut to the basket and come off of screens, and can't be held onto by the defender. I like watching the ball actually being passed around the perimeter and looking for an entry pass, and then a kickout. Unless you have one guy that just can't be stopped, someone that can drive and shoot, and then I don't mind seeing them clear the lane out and just letting the guy go to work.

Keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better about being a Laker fan.

We're talking about the Bobcats, not the Hornets. Isiah was the GM not the owner, but again people care about basketball in NY, nobody cares about the Bobcats.
