Report: Pac 10 to Invite SIX Big 12 Schools

If any politicians poke their nose in something like this right now, they should be voted out.

Politicians will stay out, if the so called remaining 4 Big 12 schools are joined together with MWC, and that conference is included in the BCS.

If that happens they stay out, if not instead of 1 senator from Utah targeting the BCS, you now have politicians from Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, and maybe even Texas (Baylor) joining the fray.

There is lots of revenue at stake here Jon, where there is $$ there are politicians.

Get over yourself. It was posted on other sites before Jon even got around to it. Not only that but ESPN is now picking up on it. What a tool you are.

Really?

Please reread the article. This guy lays out a hypothetical situation that could work out well for the teams involved. He drops some dollar amounts that could support why these teams would make a move. Never goes into anything that might say this is happening, just that messages for Pac-10 officials were not immediately responded to.

He actually makes a better case for why it wouldn't happen, A&M "might" want to go to the SEC if the B12 breaks up. Also not too convincing.

The only evidence that this might be happening is that an AD didn't deny that it was happening when asked about it. "All possibilities are open and viable for discussion"

Also, ESPN? How many times so far this summer has ESPN put up stories about expansion that turn out to be completely wrong shortly afterward.

Seriously, don't let them keep doing this to you.

Very interesting that Scott Dochterman's "quick hits" blog post a short time ago says Texas President William Powers, chairman of the Big 12 board of directors, was supposed to accompany Big 12 Commissioner Dan Beebe to a wrap-up news conference but did not. The stated reason was that Powers "had a plane to catch."

I seriously question that. Powers can certainly arrange for a plane ride almost any time. To me it suggests at the very least that Texas is leaving the Big 12; could be to join the Big 10, could be a six-school addition or full merger with the Pac 10. If the Longhorns weren't, Powers would have attended the newser with Beebe in a sign of unity and solidarity.

Also interesting that according to the e-mails obtained by the Columbus Dispatch, there appears to be a "Tech" problem in Texas going to another conference. While the article does a fair job of explaining it, it is clear that there is serious consideration of one or all of the Texas schools leaving the Big 12.
