If he can't stay healthy, he can't improve. Either because of injury or lack of effort, the result is the same. Isn't it? I'm not saying he's a bad guy or a bad teammate. I don't expect much more from him than he's given the past 3 seasons.
 
I am hoping that Gesell put it all together his Sr. year. If you look at White's career, I think most would say that he couldn't carry a team, and that he "disappeared" from games for big stretches of time. Yet all of a sudden the last half of the B1G season White did carry the team.

Same thing could be said of Gatens his Sr. year. The thing about this year is we have Mike, Uthoff, and Woody. Hopefully they all step up when needed this year.

I've already stated that I think MG could be 2nd All B1G. I have a feeling our 4 SR's will all have excellent seasons. MG, Woody and JU should make all conference teams and JU s/b 1st team.
 
So lighning was told at least 6 years ago that Gesell wasn't going to be better his senior year than he was the rest of his career. Is that fact or opinion? I hope it's an opinion because I was reallly counting on Gesell this year.

Do not forget the teams best defender, and leading 3 pt shooter last year - Clemmons. AC has been a solid Hawkeye. I expect a great senior season out of him.

There's a lot of jealousy in this thread. All because I have direct access to information? Are some of you afraid that you'll lose your HN message board know-it-all championship?

I like MG just fine but the numbers are there for everyone to look at.
Compare his numbers to Aaron White's, whose numbers all improved from his FR to his SR year. If you look at Aaron White and you see how he carried that team down the stretch last year, its a testament to a hard working player that was very serious about improving his game and his role on the team. It was the culmination of a 4 year career dedicated to improvement. That's how I see it anyway.

You could be right. I like to look at things more positively, but they don't always work out like that. With the added athlteticism and shooters this team has, I think Gesell will be able to relax and enjoy himself more. There shouldn't be a lot of pressure on him anyway. He will be a very experienced player.

You have no idea what you are talking about. How does my comment to Mike have anything to do with my comment to PC? If you're going to stick your nose where it doesn't belong, you should at least get the particulars.
