PTL Playoffs

This site has become so pathetic, no information regarding PTL Playoffs. In the many years I have been on this site, you would have volumes of info after each session let alone the Playoffs. I remember posts, one after another back in the day, but apparently the interest level isn't the same today.

Chad is a good follow on twitter for PTL updates. Here's some of his tweets from tonight. Haven't found any video yet.

Here are some notable PTL stats ... Uthoff 31 pts, 11 rebs, 7 astsUhl 27 pts, 10 rebs, 4 astsClemmons 24 pts, 9 astsJok 28 pts, 14 rebs

Hawkeye rookies: Jones 28 pts (6-13 3pt)/14 rebs; Hutton 32 & 9; Williams 16 & 7; Fleming 24 pts/15 rebs/6 asts; Wagner 20 (10-12 FG) & 11.

Incoming Iowa G/F Brandon Hutton is a quote machine. Media is going to love him; Hawkeye fans will love his talent & selfless grit more.

Hutton says he ranks himself as the No. 2 defender on the team, for now, behind @sapp_5. Needs to learn to talk more to be No. 1, he says. For instance. Hutton says one of the things he's learning in practice? “Learning how not to get killed by Woody's screens.”

Thanks so much for the update. A little info goes a long way, I will state that Fleming will be the star of this class.,

Thanks for the info! The returnees really poured it on. Of the newbs, Hutton, Fleming and Jones are my early picks for a good amount of PT. They look impressive and consistent. With Moss obviously in the mix, when he gets here.

Not to forget about the others. They all have talent. Some will play right away, some wont. I hope a couple are willing to redshirt for the betterment of themselves, and the future of the team...

Fran has us headed in a great direction people. Enjoy the ride!!

Saw these post game interviews done by Tom Kakert. Very well spoken young men who seem to be very determined and have good heads on their shoulders. Chemistry seems good as well.

Fleming: https://iowa.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1785703
Wagner: http://rvls.co/1SFsBTE

THanks for the Links, CPA. With the solid nucleus of returning guys, (Woody, Ute, Jok, Sapp, Gesell, Uhl) and the newbies, also,
this team is going to be really Fun to watch. And........you have Excellent Senior leadership & that always means a lot.

Go hawks

Gesell only scored 13 points and his team lost. A four year starter should be dominating the PTL, it's concerning that he's not able to do this.

I agree, stay off Gesell. He is the 2nd most valuable player on the team in my opinion.

I wouldn't disagree with that, but his inability to score for long periods of time really hurts our offense. Having a point guard who can't shoot the three and struggles getting to the rim a lot of games really drags our offense down. When he's played well, we've looked like a very good team, unfortunately that hasn't happened as much as people expected.

Does anyone know how that reflects on Fran?

I lol'd. Thanks for making my Friday better.

On topic, these guys aren't playing like usual incoming freshman do in the PTL. Usually new guys are around the 10-15 pt mark per game. Not 25-40 pt mark per game. Fleming is playing great, but Hutton is the one that is really surprising me. No one thought he had a very good offensive skill set yet, as he is known for his defensive prowess, but he was really turning it on.

Wagner, Hutton, and Fleming aren't slim guys. They are all athletic and I think the lightest one is Fleming at 220 lbs. I don't think they will get pushed around much. Wagner said he is up from 215 lbs to 225 pounds since getting to Iowa City. When Wagner came in it was said he had trouble scoring around the basket, but he was 10 of 12 in the playoffs yesterday.
