By all means... please keep your "info" to yourself in the future. You've shared nothing other than being incredibly vague. If this is your idea of sharing info then keep it to yourself. You're just beating around the bush and acting like you know something. If you actually have a source and you're afraid to share your information then just keep it to yourself. No harm in that. Going halfway like this on a message board is beyond stupid.

Lightning, I honestly just don't get what you were tying to do in this thread. You made a bunch of super cryptic type post, and I don't think anyone thought you were making them because you were in the know on this. Now you are acting all butthurt about it, but you should have just said from the beginning that you had a source that said Fran was pizzed about this. I really never thought it was anything but your opinion until you finally got around to making it seem like you got this info from a source or the horse's mouth (Fran).

I still have a hard time buying that it's anything but his opinion. Why else would he beat around the bush and be so vague about it? I'm thinking he simply stated his opinion as fact, got called out for it and then when backed into a corner reluctantly hinted at some inside info. At least if the truth eventually comes out (that Fran's not actually pizzed), he's got deniability since he never actually stated that.

I would believe that all these guys who are on scholarship are taking summer classes. I believe that for two reasons: 1) They can't take a full load of classes during the season and do well in them; 2) By NCAA rules, they can't stay on campus and work a job (like bagging groceries at HyVee or other minimum wage jobs like other college students do in the summer).
It takes about an hour and a half to get from downtown Iowa City to downtown Waterloo. The PTL games in question (7/16) were on a Thursday and started around 6pm. If they had classes that last until 4 or later, they would have a very difficult time getting from that class to their dorm, change and then go on to Waterloo. It would be difficult to get there if they got out of class at 3.
Yeah, I know.... a lot of ifs. No, I don't have any insider info. But I have played informal leagues like the PTL for years and while it was a priority that I made it on time, it was not a top priority. Just looking at it as an interested fan that knows about travel time to games and knows that these kids' top priority in the off season should be to bolster their GPAs.

I didn't see the need to get into where the information came from. I mistakenly figured that it wasn't a big stretch to see the volume of Iowa players missing and how that might not reflect well on Fran, as a lot of local people spend a lot of free time putting the PTL league on every year, so that fans get to see the local college players. I seriously underestimated the level of stupidity and paranoia by fellow Hawk posters.
I did say where I got the information. I got it directly from the source, Fran. I don't care what any of you think about my reluctance to divulge the source of information. It's the last bit I'm sharing.

Way to snitch on your source, heard Fran isn't happy about you blabbering on about what he told you on a message board. Don't think we have to worry about Fran telling you anything ever again.
You mean that I will never hear from you again? I think Fran is going to be disappointed that he will have to find someone else to spread his feelings.

I assume you are referring to yourself here because you are the only one who is paranoid. Everyone else sees this as a non-issue.
So you talked to Fran and he told you that he is upset with the players missing a mid-week PTL game in Waterloo and that he said it reflects poorly on him and his players' level of commitment. Got it.
Only took 6 pages but now that i finally know what's going on, i have no problem with it.
