Practice Pictures?

The only comment I'll make about the pictures, is that it appears Eppy and Nixon are blowing people up, and that I wish Nixon was playing this year.

I'm sure he's a great kid, but if he sees anything other than garbage time or special teams something went horribly wrong. Fant and Hockenson are likely going to be the difference makers on this entire team.
 
Thx for the pics, Rob. 28 looks like an absolute beast. I'm calling 1000 yards for him. The receivers really seem to be high pointing the ball so I think we'll see 3500 yards and 40+ TDs out of Stanley this year.

I'm not so sure about that. He's a great athlete for his size, similar to Fant. Hell, he started off his career at WR. If we wanna get goofy with 3 TE sets or passing out of 2 TE sets, I bet he sees some solid reps.

He's listed on his college football roster at 5 8. Which likely means closer to 5 6 than 5 8.

Had Nixon gone to any other school, I'm sure he'd be playing this year. This is the Ferentz personal-development approach, like it or not.

I don't have an opinion about whether or not Nixon should be playing. It was just an observation. I'm cool with him sitting if that's what the staff feels is in his best interest.

I believe KF said that as an academic redshirt, there is not an option to play Nixon this year, even for 4 games.

Yup, I think they are trying to get him to succeed.
If that means no pt this year, so be it, but if he does what he needs, he will have plenty of time to impress when he does line up.

I saw a picture on the hawkeye football Instagram of a number 14 catching a ball any idea who that is? When will they update the roster with then incoming freshman’s numbers

That was Ed Podolak, making a comeback in his late sixties.

Seriously it was probably a walk-on or true freshman like you mentioned. Not sure when the roster will be updated.

If he is number 14 and plays as well as our most recent number 14 he will be a hell of a player.
 
I have a hunch the receivers will be better this year. Marsette, Easley, Smith, Cooper, Raigani...have to be 3 solid players in there somewhere.
