KF passed Bo in wins and PP presented him with the game ball. I thought this was pretty sweet so I thought I'd share it for those that haven't seen it.
Kind of dispels some of the Parker must hate working with the Ferentz' babble.KF passed Bo in wins and PP presented him with the game ball. I thought this was pretty sweet so I thought I'd share it for those that haven't seen it.
They know something we don’t
I could still be way wrong and the guy has 4 more yrs in him and he becomes the all time BIG wins leader. All I've done is see how the stars are all lined up. I just don't think we should be surprised if he does hang it up. And if this off season drags on without him having hired an OC after signing day in early Feb that would be telling... Timeline wise I really hope we know one way or the other before that.I keep thinking that, too. And @Hawkfnntn has been predicting since the start of the year. I hope we are all wrong, I could use a few more years of this (but with a more competent offense).
KF also had a couple grand kids on the field after the game. (presumably Brians but I don't know if those were his. I do know he has kiddos though) I can't remember KF having done that before either. If that was his last home game it'd make sense... A part of me wishes we'd just already know that but a part of me is like damn it just let him do it on his timeline whatever it is. If anyone has ever earned that it's himThat was really cool. I agree it just seems like they are in the know about something. I think KF is also on track to hit that special win total for Hall of Fame.
I'm pretty sure that KF responded to PP paraphrase "I couldn't have done it without you.". It is who KF is and he has spent his entire coaching career taking bullets for his team and coaches and deflecting any compliments about his accomplishments. That's what coaches do and he is a damn good college football coach.
If I could speak with him I'd like to tell him "Ya know coach, sometimes, just sometimes, it's alright to pat yourself on the back and say I did a damn good job."
Man, I texted the same thing to buddies. Not to sound too creepy, but he lives by my parents and I think most of his kids (he has at least four) are girls, including the two oldest. I sort of wonder if those were one of Kirk's daughter's kids (because they looked like two slightly older boys, at least one was)...neither here nor there, but I noticed too.KF also had a couple grand kids on the field after the game. I agree with all that but he's also a savvy guy (and one that doesn't want the attention on him). He'll always say he is coming back next year (until the day he has a press conference in January some year saying he is stepping down).Kirk has said he is coming back. I will take him at his word. And, even if some may think I am crazy, I think he loves what he does too much to stop now. It is not about the $$. It is not about setting records. It is not about being stubborn.
He just loves to coach.
I think you nailed it. It is love of the game, the players, and the university. There is so much we don't know and don't see, but see the kids rally around him and the rest of the staff. The media also said after the game that Kirk was running late for all his media obligations. He was in the locker room an extra long time. How long I'm not sure but it was noticeable enough that it was brought up.Man, I texted the same thing to buddies. Great post. Especially "taking the bullets" while deflecting the compliments. That's what head coaches are supposed to do, but I think KF goes above and beyond that. That was really cool. I agree it just seems like they are in the know about something. I think KF is also on track to hit that special win total for Hall of Fame.

What he's built at Iowa doesn't go on everywhere else. I'd say anywhere else. And if KF is going to continue coaching that's his #1 reason for doing so. That'd be really damn hard to walk away from. Especially if you know you can still do it. I still feel like he will but I really hope I'm wrongI think you nailed it. It is love of the game, the players, and the university. Those kids love their coaches and it's reciprocated by the staff. The culture built here is something special. Let's hope it continues for a while. We won't truly appreciate it until it's over.
