Postponed?

The Indiana Pacers offered their facility for tomorrow night and IU declined. If I am Gary Barta I do not accept anything other than a game at Carver. If IU doesnt agree than it is up to the Big Ten to decide.

Iowa was open to it. Indiana 'respectfully declined'.

I think I call bullish*t on Indiana's reasons they couldn't make this work at the Pacer's place. Anyone else smell a rat on that detail? I agree now, Barta shouldn't agree to anything that would disadvantage Iowa in the slightest.

I haven't seen everything yet but can someone fill me in on why we left town so fast. Playing at the proposed venue tomorrow seemed perfectly reasonable. It happened all the time last week because of snow, this does not seem that different other than a different location. Unless I am missing something this could come back to haunt us later.

32, I would consider the fact that Iowa's entire prep time for WUs was/is based on them being in Iowa City tonight. I think it was smart to not play tomorrow night.

Also, snow/weather is an act of God. This was not. IU let their facilitites fall to sub standards and this was their fault.

From Indiana b-ball message board:

Word coming to me is that talks have been held to move the game this week to Iowa. Their schedule is full. And their arena is available.

Would love to have you check in to this, if you could Alex

Canceling a game for that??? Meh

Lets be real The Big 10 will be the ones to decide, not sure Barta has much leverage here. If the Big Ten tells Iowa you are going to play in Bloomington, what is Iowa and Barta gonna say? No?

If the Assembly Hall checks out, then Iowa is probably gonna play there, with Indiana reimbursing Iowa's expense from the previous trip.

If it does not check out then maybe you get a game in Iowa City, though a game on March 10th or 11th in Indy seems more likely.

If it's at Indiana it will be this Thursday would be my guess.... otherwise don't see anyway they can have it at Indiana.

If they are having the women's game their tomorrow then I expect at Indiana Thursday.

To do the game on Thursday, iowa would have to leave Wednesday. No way the structural review is done by tomorrow.

What a bunch of crap! There should be some rule that says if a perfectly acceptable replacement arena is available within 100 miles of the original arena the game must be played there. Respectfully declined...what a bunch of p word-ies.

I've been reading Indiana website - women's game is a go for tomorrow. I'm not speculating about that.

Also there was a tweet from Jok 40 min ago saying "bored in the hotel"

No one knows for sure if Iowa left Indiana or not.

Brendan Stiles pointed out that the release said the team will leave tonight, NOT that they'd already left.

Who's saying that? Fans? Glass was on record less than an hour ago and no mention of that. No way an entire structural review can be done in that amount of time. No insurance company would go for that.

Stiles tweeted earlier that the women's game will be played as scheduled. Snow/ice settled on the roof right above the plate that fell off the ceiling.
