Postponed?

Went to Indiana Scout site and read there's going to be a 7:00 press conference to discusses the postponement.

If I was Barta right now I would tell them you have three options ...

1) Play at Banker's Life Tomorrow night
2) Play at Carver tomorrow night
3) IU forfeit

… it's your choice.

I don't see how he'd have that much leverage to force the game to be at a certain location.

The B1G will likely be making this decision...and it will probably come down to money. When can the game be played AND televised.

I'll take a neutral court game tomorrow night.

Its gonna be 3 games in a week. No way around it. Its not that easy logistically to change a venue in a day.. Things like rescheduling officials. Remember these guys do not work for the league, they are hired contractors and most are booked up.

The only other alternative is to play on like March 10th. Big 12 does Saturday-Monday all the time so not a huge issues, Iowa probably has a bye first round of big 10 tourney and would not play til Friday anyway.

No way we should have to play 3 games in a week. It's one thing if there was a weather related issue that caused the game to be postponed....act of God sort of thing. It's another thing entirely to have a deficient structure cause the game to be postponed. At that point, Indiana should either agree to play the game in Carver tomorrow or forfeit.

I hope its a neutral court or maybe back in AH on Thursday night. Don't want it to be in Carver. Giving Iowa an extra home game, particularly when they are 1 game out of first with a month to go, gives them competitive advantage over the other contenders. If Iowa wins this, I want it to be on equal footing as everyone else.

Izzo blows all the refs getting him calls. We get an extra home game. Sounds equal to me.

I don't know when or where on this game but Iowa should win whenever or wherever. All of this traveling isn't giving Iowa a competitive advantage with players sick and Wisconsin coming to town Saturday.

Exactly, that has to be Barta's point … you are not going to potentially screw up our season by making us play 3 games in a week before the BTT … we are here in town let's get this done.

That would make the most sense. Play at Bankers Life tomorrow night. I bet it will be at least a week before structural engineers (and lawyers) give them the OK for Assembly Hall and that's if there is nothing that has to be physically corrected.

They may need to shut it down for the rest of the hoops seasons for both the men and women, and for any other events that they have scheduled there.

Huh? With unbalanced schedules there's no such thing as equal footing. How many other teams have to play Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Ohio State twice? Talk about a scheduling disadvantage. I'd say giving us an extra home game levels that scheduling out just fine.

Assembly Required Hall?
LOL. This definitely the new name: Assembly Required Hall. I hope they tell their recruits about this when they're touting their BB facilities.

Does anyone else feel like this is almost as big a let down as losing? Not the same- I know, but I was really set for us to make a run. I just hope the delay somehow works to our benefit with the sick guys on the team.
