Glad to see they are trying to get their running game going. It's their weakest point. They get that going and they are going to be extremely hard to keep out of the Superbowl again.
Chiefs and 49ers look pretty good too but with a few more things to work on.

I haven’t watched one in six or seven years. I cannot get even remotely interested in pro football unless it’s to watch former Hawkeye player highlights.

I loved NFL as a kid and teenager, but it’s just a douche rocket convention now.

I actually luv college football much more for viewing. I really enjoy Fantasy Football which is prob what keeps me fairly interested in the NFL. It's not really a fandom anymore for a team. It's more watching the players on my team which changes each season.

After I quit playing fantasy football about 5 years ago, I realized that I have very little interest in the NFL without it.
The reason I quit fantasy football (I think this is my thrid year) is because I can't stay engaged enough to make it any fun.

The last couple years I would get up in the morning on Sunday, and at like 11:49 I'd go "Oh shit I have to look at my lineup." If all my roster spots were full I'd say F it and leave it however it was from the week before, and if there were guys who had a bye I'd either grab a bench player or pick up whatever shit players were at the top of Yahoo's waiver wire. By week 10 I'd be 2-8 and at that point I'd quit making lineups altogether. My $40 was a donation.

When I first started playing way back in my 20s it was a ton of fun and I'd actually work at it, but I just can't stand watching that garbage football anymore.

Now I do 3 pickems and it's a hell of a lot more fun because I don't have to think. One is a vanilla NFL survivor league, one is a college pick'em with 8 "random" games plus the Hawks and clowns every week (5 are spread and 5 are straight up), and the third is a loser NFL league instead of survivor.

The thing about college being more fun is that you know there's a finite amount of time that players can play, so teams are always changing and it keeps it interesting. You don't have to watch a dominant player like a Tom Brady for 12 years, and if there's a total piece of shit like Manziel you know you'll only have to put up with it for a short time.

Without fantasy football I have almost no interest in the NFL. What's funny is, at the same time, I feel that fantasy is what also killed my enjoyment of the NFL. When people are rooting for players individually rather than teams.

"My favorite team is playing my starting defense this week so I want them to win, but not by much. Hope they get a few picks and maybe a special teams touchdown" just ruins the whole idea for me.

I like that college football is not perfect. NFL all look the same. In college you get different philosophies and guys like Mike Leach. You get funky offenses, trick plays on occasion, weird mismatches that can be interesting. I like watching college teams play thru mistakes and turnovers.

Add in the atmospheres and it's great.

I completely agree with the above and was going to state the same thing. Double edged sword.

Bunch of cheaters.

I have mentioned many times how the penalty and reception reviews and so many penalty calls in the nfl just totally blow the rhythm and fun of watching. I like to watch my teams in the nfl, chiefs and bears mainly. The refs just cant get the PI and is it a catch rule down. Edelman of the Patriots caught a ball almost took 2 steps and lost it but it was stripped from him and it wasnt like he dropped it but the refs called it incomplete and then upheld after review. It was a great defensive play unrewarded.

I am jumping on the 49ers bandwagon with several hawks on the team and a big rebuilding project maybe being realized.

But I also like to watch big matchups during the year mainly between the teams who have been in the league a long time. Steelers vs browns or ravens (the real browns haha). Packers vs vikes, Cowboys vs any NFC East team.

Rams vs 49ers, as these are the oldest, best rivalries that I grew up watching.

I watch playoff baseball and the last few NFL games during the playoffs. If there are big games during the season and NASCAR is over, I might occasionally tune in for the end of those.
Baseball I watch all year because it's my sport but I get how people can be bored with it.

They need to let roids back in the game. It's become tough to watch unless you're a knowledgeable fan who's sharp on all the nuances. Give me the Canseco/McGwire/Clemens era anytime.

I remember when Monday Night Football was like a weekly thing for America that looked forward to the Monday night games with Howard Cosell &"Dandy" Don Meredith. Now we have Thursday night games, all day Sunday and Sunday night football. I also think the NFL announcers stink, Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, Chris Collinsworth...uggghhh!

MNF had two golden ages, similar to Saturday Night Live. Both MNF and SNL suck total shit now.

MNF had Cosell/Meredith, and Michaels/Gifford/Dierdorf. I grew up during the second one.

It's total garbage now. Joe Tessitorre and Booger MacFarland? What the F...

I haven't watched SNL in at least 10 years now. It was great back from the late 70's to mid 90's. It's become way to political now.

I'm with you. I actually gave up the No Fun League 26 years ago. Only sports I pay any attention to at all are College Football and a little basketball.

These shifts from the data analytics have taken a big human element out of the management side of the game, too. I only follow the playoffs, but they put up the HR numbers in one of the games. Is it safe to assume they have juiced the hell out of the ball, or has the movement of the league to just bring in guys who strike out a lot because they are only going for homers led to the higher HR production?
