Past NBA stars in today's game.

Steve Nash is extremely athletic. A guy with average athleticism is not winning back to back MVPs.

Don't get me wrong, I love Nash and think he's awesome, but I guess I put a lot of stock in leaping ability and strength, two things of which Nash doesn't have a whole lot of. I mean the guy is 6' 3" and I've never seen him dunk. The guy is definitely one of the best ball-handlers of all-time and can find his way through the lane unscathed brilliantly. I wouldn't go as far as to say he's extremely athletic though.

Yeah, Steve Nash was never extremely athletic by any means. He was\is extremely coordinated and fairly quick and fast but compared with some one like Derick Rose or Chris Paul you could never define him as athletic.

If that's best dunk Nash has ever had then I think my vertical is better than his. I'm 6'0 and pretty much can do the same thing he does in that commercial.

Compared to LeBron you could never define Chris Paul as athletic.

There can be multiple guys at one position who are extremely athletic.

That's what you said, key words being could and never. They're both extremely athletic, but yes, LeBron is a bit more athletic, but "compared to LeBron you could never define Chris Paul as athletic"? Lol..

LeBron is not a "bit more athletic", come on man. It's not even close between him and Paul. Paul has bad knees, Paul isn't even on Rose or Westbrook's level of athleticism, let alone LeBron.

Jeebus, are we going to get in an argument about what the definition of "bit" is? You said that when compared to LeBron, CP3 "could never" be considered athletic and I find that funny. You keep grasping at straws though, brah.

seriously it doesnt mean squat if i could do that or not , what matters the most is ball handling and see the court. and getting your players set up .

Leaping ability and strength are but two elements in the spectrum about of athleticism. There are many many others... Balance, hand eye cooridnation, quickness, change of direction, speed, body control....

We had a kid in our HS that was a weight room freak. He was 6-3 225, benched 300+ squated 450+ and set our HS verticle leap record with a leap of 36 inches. He couldn't run up and down the basketball court once withtout falling down. He couldn't catch, dribble, shoot, catch a football, block... he was just a complete waste of muscle.

We had a teamate who was 6-2 205. He wasnt as big strong, fast, couldn't jump as high, but he played D1 football for Kansas.

You want to tell me the former was more athletic than the latter because he was stronger and could jump higher?

Is D. Archie more athletic that Brunner?
