SDSU scored over 80 points 11 times last year, roughly 1/3 of their games, and scored in the 70's another 8 times. That's 63% of their games. They only scored in the 50's twice. I'd argue that they are not a slow down type team . They averaged 74 points per game (14 per game better than Iowa last year) and (more importantly) gave up 73 per game, against the Summit League. This from a team that won 14 games (10 conference) against the Summit League.
I'm not expecting 111 against them, but Iowa will put up way more than 63. I'm expecting roughly 90-78 or so, considering Iowa's tempo now (not under Lick) and what SDSU has done in the past. If Lick was still the coach, I'd expect a 63-57 game. But given Iowa's new style of play, and the FACT that SDSU isn't as low scoring as you seem to think they are, I'll be shocked if either team is under 70.
And I don't have a raging boner over their exhibition game, in fact I haven't changed my prediction for their season one bit. I still think they are a 13-15 win team. I am excited to see them running again, but I honestly don't think it will translate into that many more wins, this year. Not against the Big Ten. Guess what, SDSU isn't a Big Ten team.
That's some ownage right there...
