Our big win out the window?

MN has two big boys in the middle. OSU has been exposed inside. IA will match up well with MN inside but they can't match IA wings. The guard play should favor IA at home. I think IA wins it close but I would rather see a blow out.

I think we will beat Minnesota by 15. Knock off about 20 of those inside points they got tonight. Also, they want to play up tempo which plays right into our hands. No worries! I give Minnesota a 3% chance of winning.

No. Ohio State was always overrated in the Top 5...but it's still the best win of any team in the Big Ten this year.

No it was a great win absolutely, I don't have time to watch all the teams, so if OSU was suspect in the top 5 that's news to me, that's why I asked to see what you guys feel

It's good for us. Makes the potential win vs the Gophers look better and we are 2 up on the Buckeyes.

"No" is the answer to the question.

Perfect week:
Sat - Mich W @Wisc
Sun - Iowa W vs. Minn
Wed - Iowa W @ Mich
Wed - Minn W vs. Wisc

This. I hope our crowd gives them a rude welcome too.

OSU will rebound and have a good season, and the win happened while they were ranked 3rd. It still shows up as Iowa winning AT 3 OSU even if they finish the season barely ranked, or unranked which I doubt happens. If anything this gives Minnesota some credibility and makes a win against them this weekend a quality win to add to the list (though much lower on the list.)

Agreed that they were overrated but it does make iowa's win look less impressive. Hawks were getting a TON of street cred for that win and it now seems like we were getting too much. OSU looked offensively challenged

OSU is a fine team that had their confidence destroyed by the mighty Hawkeyes. You can't blame them for taking a few days to recover from that onslaught.

OSU may not lose another game all year.

This. Last year OSU lost 3 of 4 and then turned it around.

The way I see it, it puts Iowa 2 games ahead of OSU in the standings. If we have the Big Ten season we should have and finish ahead of OSU, we'll be in the top 3. IMO, that would get us a minimum of a 3 seed in the dance. The "big wins", etc. are used more for slotting the 6th and 7th place teams in big conferences, but the topdawgs are slotted based on conference strength more than anything (no, I don't have a link, just remember a selection committee guy saying that in the past couple of years on the selection show).

Anytime that Ohio St., Michigan St., or Wisconsin loses, it is good for Iowa. Those are the top 4 teams in the league, so I like it when those 3 lose in conference play.

What it shows me is how hard it is to win on the road in the Big 10. It also shows how seriously the Hawkeyes need to take Minnesota on Sunday. There are only a few bad teams in the conference, and even they will most likely jump up and beat somebody they shouldn't. The OSU win was still big and as long as we keep taking care of business, the talking heads aren't going to stop talking about the Hawkeyes.

The good news is that makes Sundays game even more important. If Iowa beats Minnesota that gives them another win over a RPI top 50 (ranked 26th).

OSU took Michigan St in OT; they are a talented team. They just looked very sluggish last night. Minnesota looked very sloppy in the first half but turned it around in the 2nd. I am not at all concerned with the bigs for Minny. What I think will be the problem is the guards taking us off the bounce. The Hollins duo is very talented. I say Hawks in the 5-8 point range on Sunday.

I've always felt that OSU would be 4th-5th team in the league along with Wis. Honestly thought that Iowa (maybe a bit of homerism, here), MSU, & Mich would be top 4. With McGary out,I'll be surpised if Mich finishes top 3... Of the group, Wis is surprising me the most - Taylor was the unkown factor for me...
