OT - Streaming

That's a lot of miles and if you plow those things have to be beaten to hell, so you go ahead and buy whatever you want. That Dodge ain't gonna be so silky smooth at 50k when you'll start hearing a thousand rattles in it, but by then it will almost be time for a new one so that will be someone else's problem.

Dodge is known for their awesome transmissions to.

F-150, do you think it is the 1980's bruh? I get a new truck every 2 years, I've had new Chevy's, Ford's and I have never had anything as nice as the new '19 Ram. Stick to the city OK4P, you are out of your depth here.

I spent $400 buying 5 Amazon Fire TV's so I'm not going to downgrade to a Roku Stick for just one TV with the potential for a marginal upgrade of Youtube TV =/

Seems how you can't use YouTubeTV on your fancy Amazon TVs, I would think Roku would be an upgrade not a downgrade, since Roku supports anything.

Roku stick doesn't offer 4k streaming, is less responsive, and has less processing power than a Fire TV does. That's why it's a downgrade.

As I said I'm perfectly happy with PS Vue, but I would be curious to check out Youtube TV. It would be pointless to buy a Roku stick to see if I like youtube TV because I would not spend $500 buying Roku Ultra's to move everything to youtube tv. The only way I'm going to check out Youtube TV is if Fire TV's support it, which was my original point. Does that make more sense?

If I were starting from scratch the Roku Ultra definitely seems like the way to go, I wish more of these options were available when I got rid of cable :(

Funny, 30 yrs ago the argument was VHS vs Beta!

Ok, I see what you're saying now.

Does PSVue stream anything in 4k? Or do you use it more for Netflix 4k content? I have no idea if YouTubeTV does 4k or not, as none of my TVs do.

The only things in 4K are some Netflix shows and movie streams (IE you buy a movie from Vudu, or Amazon Prime, or Itunes) you can stream them in 4K. PSVue, YoutubeTV, Sling, DirectTV NOW, none of those have anything in 4k.

Netflix, Amazon instant video, etc. Not much out there for 4k right now, I don't watch much but the response speed difference between a stick and TV is more important to me. It sucks I bought 4 Fire TV Gen 1's, then I needed another but they had discontinued the Gen 1's and the Gen 2's were lower processing power and less responsive for the same price. I was pretty annoyed.

If it is response time and precessing power you want, then AppleTV 4K is what you need. Yeah it is expensive, but it blows away the others, and it really isn't close.

I've had both DirecTV Now and Hulu Live. I Hulu Live is cheaper and you get basic Hulu streaming package included. Since i was already paying for Hulu streaming it saves me a little more money. Also the cloud DVR service works a little better for Hulu Live. Although often you cant forward through ads. It seems to let me forward through ads for movies but not usually sporting events even if they were already completed. I don't think you can get BTN with Sling TV though.

Great lengths? Plug in apple TV, turn it on, done. It aint hard at all.

I agree that I piss away more money on tons of things, that is for sure. What I'm not going to do is get ripped off by a company. Those are two different issues. If company A is selling spam at $5 a can and company B is selling that same spam for $10 a can, you can sure as hell bet I'll be buying from company A. If you want to pay double, and are ok getting ripped off, welp that is your call.
Spam in a can is a bad decision at $10 AND $5 a can. It's also a bad idea at any other price. Just saying...

Why would someone want to spend the sales tax every two years? I guess if you don't have DirecTV, you can affort that!
If you are buying it for a business then it's not nearly as big of a hit. Having a business work truck for more than two years with that many miles will end up spending more on repairs than on a new truck.

Cut the cord almost two years ago. Haven't regretted it.

We have Vue with subs to Netflix, Hulu and Prime (free shipping :)).

We run it through Amazon Fire TV. It's pretty slick.

FWIW I have PS Vue and I really like it but I'd like to try out Youtube TV if Google and Amazon quit their bitch fest
I agree! I was all sold on Youtube TV, as it has a strong interface, great price, solid strength, but alas not on Amazon Firestick was a deal breaker for me as I already own multiple and an Apple 4K TV. So I have DirecTV Now and it is just okay in my opinion, plus they are raising the price and dropping content!

Sounds like we are a lot alike, we have exactly the same scripts and cut the cord it seems at the same time.
