Could making a change lead to a less successful sports program? Yes. However what kind of courage does it take to just SETTLE?
It's not "could" it lead to a less successful sports program. It's, "
most likely" will. The odds are worse orders of magnitude worse than a scratch ticket. If you want to make that kind of gamble, you're an idiot. There's no other way to put it. Again, you are a Xerox copy of nebraska and Wisconsin fans. And you should note what's happened to nebraska the past 30 years and what's happening to Wisconsin right now. But alas, you don't have the mental capacity to realize it so I'm talking to a brick wall. And that's on me.
If you were in a line of people talking like you are and Hayden Fry heard the crap you are talking he would punch you in the face. He even said that. He said he had no toleration for players or fans who think that way and he would like to punch them in the face if he heard them talk like that.
Iowa has had 21 football coaches in 126 years. Since you think KF sucks, that leaves two of them (in your mind) that have been successful. Two coaches out of 21, in 126 years have had success. And yet here you are saying they should fire a winning coach that has (as a percentage of total per coach) more winning seasons than just about every program out there. You are either dumb or just ignorant. In either case you do not understand statistics and probablitity. Maybe you don't follow the rest of the college football world, I don't know. I'm trying hard to give you the benefit of the doubt but the more you post, the more difficult it becomes.
Twenty-one years without a conference title? I don't need to hear your comment about "well if you don't like it go follow Alabama or some other elite school."
A school like Alabama who won't accept anything other than a championship appearance every year will much more suit your fandom. I'm trying to help you since Iowa's way of doing things isn't acceptable to you.
I got to watch the Bears, Cub's and Bull's do it. I am happy with just that once with the Cub's and Bear's. It was worth the wait despite all the patience and suffering and heart breaking losses. Then there's MJ who made it happen several times. I would have been happy with just one.
I'm not willing to sit through over a century of being terrible for one World Series. Don't get me wrong I like the Cubs, but I'd never trade the Braves 15 division titles in a row with one world Series for over a century of sucking total ass and multiple WS wins (even though it was only one WS in the Cubs' case). Re: the Bulls, I'll defer back to my original statement that the odds of them hiring a Phil Jackson and having Michael Jordan on one team are about as long as winning the powerball. Remember, you can't do math.
You're killing me Holmes.
The Phrase you're looking for is, "You're killing me
Smalls." It's from a really good movie called
The Sandlot.
One other thing I was a Hawkeye fan before Kirk ever had an interest in being or knowing anything Hawkeye........... so shut the F*ck up!!!!
One thing my dad taught me I'll always remember is seniority on its own doesn't mean shit. Totally meaningless. You being born before me by dumb luck isn't an accomplishment. You can't rant on about how you're more dedicated or been a fan longer when I haven't been alive as long. If you want to go the pissing match route, I'd bet money that at 45 years old I've watched more Hawkeye football than you during that time span, been to more games in person (probably more than you ever have), I can list more players and positions off the top of my head, spent more money on Iowa football, and am just more dedicated in general. But, since that stuff is bullshit, it doesn't really mean anything. See how that works?
