Not period. End of story.
Iowa has only 3 D1 programs. Minnesota only has one. Wisconsin only has one. Nebraska only has one. Missouri only has one. South Dakota has none. There are going to be a lot of D1 calibur wrestlers that wrestle D2 and D3 because there isn't an opportunity. Not because they didn't 'put their butts on the line.'
North Carolina has 8 D1 programs, Pennsylvania has 13 D1 programs, Virginia has 6, etc. Wrestlers in the states on the eastern coast have a huge advantage in getting D1 looks, but not because 'they put their butt on the line' simply because there are way more programs.
By letting in a few guys from D3 and D2 the midwest and specifically Iowa can get a little more exposure for our wrestlers. Everyone always posts those threads with qualifiers by state, and AA by state. Of course the east coast is going to dominate those, look how many programs are out there compared with the midwest.
