On the Side Pressers are no more

Everybody complained that you don't get any info out of these anyways, why is there such an outrage that these are done?

Someone needs to ask the tough questions. "Kirk, why after the games are over and settled can't Golfer get his v cash and parlay his winning by betting the west coast night games?" "It's been out there, Hawkeye Nation wants to know."

You wouldn't need to bet on the Left Coast games if you had as many viesels as I have.

I apologize if someone has already made this point, but what does is accomplish? If anything, it makes it worse. Now ese questions will HAVE to be asked during the regular presser, in front of every TV station in the state.

Much simpler answer is for Ferentz to control his temper.

For reporters, it generally is the time you get the best Ferentz answers, I'm guessing because the TV cameras are gone.

But in general, it doesn't have an impact on the flow of information. It's just not a good gesture. Poor PR.

like when I watched them asking him interviews after the game - all the questions are just so sterile. They are all afraid to make him mad.

He is so pampered - its really not a good thing at all.

Hey GarBar, time to round up the Big Donors and scrape together $20 million. And then call Bob Diaco.

I'll quit buying condoms and lotto tickets to contribute. Although if I do that I will have more kids and you guys (the tax payers) will have to give me more money to live and support the kids. I have good timing but would be willing to guess I would make a "accident"... hey thats sex.

More proof that Kurt is clueless, as is the Iowa SID, regarding how their actions are perceived by the fans, media and public.

This is a power trip by Kirk. He doesn't want to answer the tough questions, he knows he doesn't have to, so now he isn't going to.

Congrats Kurt, you aren't as smart as I thought you were, and this season proves you aren't nearly as good of a coach as I thought you were.

Oh, and by the way, your football program sucks and all the goodwill you had in the bank from 2009 has been cashed out.

LOL. U showed him!

The reporter secretly records KF's discussion with a reporter who asked a stupid/leading question. Then takes the secret recording back and they play it the newscast (not the sports segment!), like its breaking news that people say naughty words!
As I said before... That was bush league reporting by bush league newscasters! I don't blame the coach at all.

"Secret" recording?

Incorrect. Those reporters put their recorders right on the table in front of Kurt. They also hold their cameras and shoot video. All in his view.

Kurt knows that those sessions are recorded and reported. The idea of "on the side" was to create a forum for reporters to ask questions that maybe don't belong in the normal press conference.

Correct me if I'm wrong...
Did the reporter not shoot the video from the side and at a lower angle (suggesting that the camera was being carried on his hip-as though he's going to put it away)? Did the duscussion involving KF not happen after the on the side segment was ending, and other reporters were wrapping up their gear to head out/interview others? Was KF talking with the reporter about asking the question and doing so in a proper manner? Kind of a shady thing to do.
I'm just saying the reporter lacked to show a professional courtesy by recording/showing the tape. And for what!? Because KF said a sweat? Fudge that sheet, bro!? Who doesn't say a lil naughty every now and again?
In summation, I can see why there won't be an on the side segment anymore.
