***OFFICIAL Iowa vs Rodents Upset thread***

When he sets his feet and squares up for an on balance jump shot he shoots well. He just rarely does that, he is always fading away and taking off balance jumpers unnecessarily.

Marble looks slow and not able to beat Mo Walker off the dribble is not encouraging. Iowa plays well and with rhythm when he has been sitting in the last three games.

Marble has been struggling to even keep his dribble alive this game, I think Gessel, JO, White, McCabe and Basabe is our best line up for this game.

Doofus......funny! OK Mr. Negative. Marble does not seem to be laboring any on a bad toe. If it were so bad that it were dramatically affecting his play, Fran would sit him. Trust me, if Marble had a bad case of turf toe, you would see him favoring it. Minnesota is sitting back in a zone. Marble is not shooting well from the outside, and he is not going to drive against the zone. The Gophers are effectively taking his game away defensively. It is not because of some turf toe injury!

So you're saying he's not hurting because Fran hasn't pulled him or he isn't limping?
It's obvious that he's lost a step and his minutes are quite a bit less. I'd say those are two indicators that its still bothering him.

Tough to beat anyone off the dribble from the wing when they are playing a zone. I can see penetrating from the top, but not the wing. Playing mostly zone. Kind of a Tubby trademark.

Although we missed 3 opportunities to take the lead at the end of the half, I still like how hard we played to close out the half.

JO jacking 3s left and right. Marble scoreless at the half. Dear Jesus. Need I say more? I'm sorry. JO needs to sit. With him jacking 3s left and right, NOBODY else get's involved. So is the idea we allow JO to just shoot, shoot, shoot to see if he can get out of the season long slump? It's a receipe for disaster in my book. Might work for a game. But not long term.

Walker is the tub that switched on the screen late there...again, not encouraging.

I am not saying there is not some sort of injury. But Marble himself said it has been a lingering toe issue. So for how long and when did it start, who knows. What I do know is that if it is a bad case of turf toe, yes he would be favoring it. I don't see it. I think Minnesota's defense is keeping him down. If he could hit some outside shots, that may open his game up a little more. It could be a combo of both?

Has he taken one bad three? If he is open, he needs to shoot and that is what he has done.

Sick of hearing it. The kid was an absolute spark today. He came in, hit that 3 and got that steal and this team began to play with more aggressiveness. None of his shots were bad, a few guys have been jackin up 3s and doing no better. Keep him in.

Nobody is getting involved with Marble on the floor, Iowa played better with JO on the floor than Marble you can't argue that. I hope he keeps chucking.

I get the feeling that we will start the second half better from behind than we would if we had the lead. Hopefully being down 1 is a good thing for them.

He gets criticized for not shooting, now gets it for shooting, critics please make up your trivial minds.
