***Official Iowa Michigan game thread***

Watching this game makes you think we may never be back....of course the Indiana game even though it was a loss felt like we were closer to back but this one makes me almost feel Lickliter flashbacks....what does this team learn from this game is what I am most curious about and how to we pick up the pieces and win a very important game this Thursday?

Iowa is better than average. That being said, until Iowa gets a 3 that is a good 3 point shooter and slasher type our offense can be held in check. We needed a better effort on defense although when the starters spend so much time on the bench we can't expect to hang with a team like Michigan with our subs.

IMO the players didn't quit, our coach did. Iowa ran into crazy talented team in Michigan.

We should have continued to play this game out, like any normal game.

While I get he's passionate (which I love!), never expected that kind of weak-minded, over-emotional reaction from Fran. Players didn't quit, they were just getting beat by superior players. You don't throw in the towel and start the bus 30 seconds into the 2nd half. You play, you coach and hope it's an eye-opener.

Losing by 30 and trying to send a message is better than losing by 20 and getting by.

If you go back earlier, you can see I was complaining about his coaching in the first half too.

Of course, you'd think the coach would send a message at halftime, not 2 minutes after halftime.

Difference in talent between Iowa and Michigan-Iowa's players will be really good next year. Michigan will bring in better players though. We need to get lucky and somehow land an elite player. Is Jok the answer?

So the big contro will be Fran benching the starters early in the 2nd half....I think he was simply sending them a message that they did not show the effort they could have....he knows they can play better than this and must have seen some head hanging....

This game was still more entertaining to watch than a Lick coached game.

Maybe, but losing by 28 blows no matter how you slice it (and I still didn't want to watch it, so I turned the game off). I've had my fill of losing, thank you very much. Yes, I realize Iowa was playing on the road against the 2nd ranked team in the country, but it didn't make me enjoy the beatdown any more.

Their defensive effort to start to second half was pathetic. They deserved to be sat down! Let's get real, they were gonna get beat by 28 with the starters playing the whole way as well. If a coach can't take an opportunity to send a message to his players, well then Fran might as well not be our coach.

Also let us not forget the run started with Ogelsby and May on the court at the 2:54 mark. No MG and or Clemons where on the court for the last 3 minutes of the first half.
