***Official Iowa Michigan game thread***

No, no there isn't. Actually not giving a **** while the team is down and then jumping back in claiming to be a fan when the team is looking more competitive is the definition of being a bandwagon fan.

Either you don't know what a fair weathered fan is or you an idiot. I can't tell.
I don't think I'm the idiot in this convo...basically because you keep talking and proving it...but here ya go, Johnny baby...

Bandwagon Fan: Stops watching and following his team because they're down, then starts whoopin' it up when they get good again.

Beaten Down Fan: Keeps watching, but has become desensitized to how bad the team is and is so used to the losing that they don't realize how bad things have gotten until they see them become good again.

Actually the fault is mine. I turned the game on today and Iowa was up 23-19. I can't recall Michigan actually missing even one single shot the entire rest of the first half, and it only snowballed from there.

No, please don't try to bear my sins for me. This loss is all mine ...

Who's talking about a single game here? What the hell are you even talking about.

Misread the conversation. Regardless, accepting losing after being beaten down is not the same as abandoning the program. That's what bandwagoners do.

If you want to argue that Iowa fans did abandon the program, fine. That's also not much different than what happens anywhere else when a team gets that bad. At least 75% of fans are bandwagoners, doesn't matter what team they cheer for.

I bear full responsibility for this loss. My wife and I took our dog for a walk, we then went so she could do a little shopping (shoes, of course). We got home with the game tied 23-23 with about five minutes to go in the first half. UscuM went on their run to lead by 11 at halftime, and you could turn your TV sets off two minutes into the second half.

I sincerely apologize to all of HawkeyeNation for screwing up what was an even, competitive game by simply tuning in. Diesel, please ban me for life, or until a Fran-coached Iowa team makes it to the Dance, whichever comes first.
Ah crap...ya dumb son of a...

Oh...and don't tempt Jon! He banned Big10Fan and turned him into Meat when he requested the ban hammer!

This is correct.

They didn't follow it when they were in either...and of course they finished with low foul totals since they didn't play much after that...stop arguing in circles and flush this one and move along.

Don't tell me that these two players weren't playing within the game plan Shane...

The last significant minutes that MG played in the game we were up 23-22 at the 5:25 mark, as for Clemmons the game was tied 29-29 when he left the game with 3:12 remaining in first half. With May and Ogelsby on the court.

With 2:54 left in first half Fran called Timeout after a dunk by Michigan, that is when the flood gates open up 2 or 3 dunks and 2 layups later the Halftime score is 46-35..

They got yanked after halftime with the rest of the starters...it's not like they never saw the court again, Prd. Don't confuse coming off the court with the first half foul trouble with not doing what they were supposed to after halftime. We're arguing 2 different time frames here.

Prd...I still love you man! But I do have to get going...and I can understand you wanting them to be left in longer, but I'm going to trust Fran on this one. We're never going to like what we see in a beat down and you and I can argue til the cows come home and it's not going to change anything...but it's been fun venting!

Did you ever play basketball? I don't think he was sitting on his thumbs at halftime. Probably hammered them pretty good, and then saw no intensity on the court and finished the lesson.

Bro, I coached 7th grade girls basketball for two years, so I think I know a thing or two about coaches dropping the ball at halftime. Show some damned respect to mah knowledge.

It ultimately is the coaches responsibility to have the players ready to play, and they weren't ready to play again for the second game in a row. Michigan is definately a great team and should go far in the NCAA tourney, but there is ZERO reason why you lose to them by 28 points on the road.

Um, that Michigan team is pretty d*mned talented; straight up about as athletic, skilled and deep as I can remember any D1 basketball team in a long time. There is one reason, so your argument is simply wrong. Reason two: Michigan was able to trump Iowa's transition game by a factor of about 20. Reason three: playing them in Crisler, it's pretty easy to lose focus and give up a bit when the score starts going south by 15 or more.

If you read my post, I clearly stated that Michigan was a great team. Regardless, I expected maybe a 10 to 15 point loss, but not 28. Even thought this team is young, I don't believe they are playing to their full potential. I think the intesity level that teams like Indiana and Michigan play with, is missing from this team. We seen glimpses of it, but they just aren't playing 100% for the full 40 minutes.
