I've had this feeling that we'd finish below .500 but still can't commit to it because of the schedule. We do kind of suck though.

Hate to say it, but this is the worst Hawk team since 2000. Reality has set in. We are a bad football team. And next year isn't going to be much better.

Things I will be watching for right away.

On defense
1.How well Iowa's defensive ends do against Iowa State's offensive tackles. Can they contain.
Good. Very few breakdowns.
2. Can Iowa get any pressure on the quarterback.
No, this is why Iowa State is staying on the field.
3. How well the middle of Iowa's defensive line stands up against the run.
Weak, but not awful.

On offense
1. Has pass blocking improved since last week.
Good improvement on this.
2. How tentative is Vandenberg.
Well, you couldn't get much worse than last week. Shows signs of getting it together here and there, but no consistancy.

Receivers dropping passes right and left. Passes aren't very good but they need to show better form on catching those.

Actually our defense hasn't been all that bad with the exception of Morris. But I still don't have much confidence in the unit.
