**OFFICIAL CUBS REGULAR SEASON THREAD**

I love Campana. Maybe not as an everyday player, but he is leading the majors in steals. He is a great weapon as a pinch runner and if he could ever perfect his bunting, he would have a great OBP.

Dempster is putting on quite the audition for the Sox today.

then only use him as a pinch runner. he can't bunt and the rest of the time strikes out or hits it slowly to the pitcher.

Campana is hitting .276, which is above the Cubs avg. Yes, he is slowly trending downward, but what Cub isn't. He's a decent outfielder and he does provide some excitement on a team that sadly lacks much that would be termed exciting.

Demp had a great game today, and I was glad I got to see his performance in Milwaukee. Class all the way. Hopefully the Cubs can manage to get him back, but more so I hope he can go to a team and get a ring.

Here is a pic from Gail Fischer's twitter, maybe taking in Wrigley with some pals one last time?

Twitter / GAILFISCH: Life is good for Demp. Ha

SORIANO gets himself out by just watching his ball get snagged by the 3rd baseman and not even trying to run to 1st to beat out the throw. Just waiting/hoping for it to be called foul.

Nice pitch by Corpas for the strikeout and then a rocket perfectly thrown to break up the steal attempt. That was sweet!

Interesting:

Ryan Dempster - S - Cubs
According to the Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo, the Dodgers ''could pull the trigger soon'' on a trade for Ryan Dempster.
Cafardo reports that Dodgers scouts were in attendance Friday and that Dempster and his friends ''got together on the field, as if toasting the end of his Cubs days.'' That's all speculation for now, of course. But Dempster has talked with management more than once about the prospects of being traded and waiving his no-trade rights. The Blue Jays also reportedly have serious interest.

I wonder what the Dodgers would offer in return? Zach Lee would be at the top of my list along with Nathan Eovaldi.

I don't think there is any doubt that Dempster's days with the Cubs are coming to an end. There should be several teams that are bidding for his services. Hopefully the Cubs can make a better deal than they usually settle for.

Dempster trade is a no brainer. They could possibly resign him next year. They get value for him now plus he could rejoin the team. Thankyou Mr Dempster for having a great pitching year despite the horrible run support. Your record should be much better. I really hope he goes to a contender and gets to play in the WS.
