Collins will be smart enough to skip town as soon as a reasonable contract comes in. Fitz's career ambitions will always be blinded by his loyalty and delusions that he can make NU into a legit program.

The overall point of your post is true but that might be the biggest exaggeration in the history of exaggerations.
 
If you went by conference standing our win at Northwestern is more impressive than the one at Ohio State.
 
First, to TM: Glad to knows that you are an expert on the Big Ten. You may want to read up on where we are ranked by every media outlet in the country.

Now, on to a more important topic...YES! There is a god! Ohio State and Wisconsin both go down putting Iowa back in a solid third place. Now let's go get a win at Illinois! The Big Ten is a crazy conference! I love it, I love it!

I would agree...most likely. But, he gets more out of nothing just like Fitz.

I still thought Carmody was not a bad coach, but alas they could not make the tourney under him.
 
Badgers can't change who they are. If they don't knock down there 3pt shots they have a really hard time winning games.

In all honesty, Wisconsin just shot like dog crap tonight. Crean and Groce both lost to Collins because they are idiots who didn't exploit NU's weaknesses. I've got to hand it to Fran for crushing those guys, because NU really, really sucks at basketball and if you make them run and put good defensive pressure on them, they simply can't compete. Carmody was a very nice guy, but he was marginally better than Todd Lickliter. His one true strength was finding some 7 foot stiff out of Europe who could shoot 3 for 4 from 3 point land in two games a season and those games were always against Iowa, but Mr. Olah from Romania managed to hit a huge one tonight.
 
Weird how they called a goaltend when the nw guy had his hand in the net. We would still be in the hunt for a title if our refs would have known that rule.

Ohio State and Wisconsin were both top-5 teams just a couple weeks ago. The B1G mania in the media has been proven to be way off base this year. Last year, it was awesome. This year, it's nowhere near that level, but that hasn't prevented the conference from getting the kind of respect it got last year.
 
It's kind of weird that a worse record in the BIG from Iowa will probably put them dancing this year (9-9 or even 8-10 probably puts them in, at least depending upon what games they win) when the conference isn't as good as it was last year.
 
I have never seen the conference flip like this day to day and week to week. Upsets happen but this season is absolutely crazy. Sure Ohio State and Wisconsin were overrated. But there's no way to see this coming IMO. NW is alone in 6th place and Ohio State is alone in 9th place and we're approaching the halfway point of the conference season.

I can see Michigan losing some eventually. MSU is about as gritty of a team as I've ever seen, though; this is probably one of Izzo's best coaching jobs. The last time they faced injuries like this (when Kalin Lucas went down), they folded. But this group (and Appling in particular) just keeps finding a way. They're going to be scary if they ever get healthy.

Unfortunately, I think they are the cream of the crop. I can see Michigan dropping up to 4 but not Michigan State. I thought they would win it since last April and still think they will.
