I agree but I do not think he is projected to go 1st round yet and he would be stupid to leave early if he did not get drafted in the 1st round. There are no guarantees getting drafted in the 2nd round.

The troll parade just keeps getting longer. Ok4prez and ghost have added atomicblue and hawkforce to their boy band. Soon they will have their own Fab 5 of moronic posters to kill any thread within seconds of being created and this site will sink to yet a new low.
Should be a name change from Iowa Basketball to Troll Patrol. After 2-3 threads, nothing related to basketball gets discussed and the Simpson images start appearing.
Totally cool with ripping my takes if you disagree (which most do), but the moronic stuff the same half dozen people do over and over and over and over again is pathetic. There must be a lot of 30 somethings living in their parent's basement that think this stuff is funny.

I blame the coaching staff for this.
The mock drafts have had him around 11-13 in the first round all year.
As indicated,his dad was killed when he was a youth,his mom is disabled with a back problem that needs surgery,and his brother is serving in the army in afghanistan.
I think he will leave,especially with a probable changeover at coach at Illinois.
The NBA loves guys like him. All the tools,great length, wide shoulders,so he can pack on more muscle,and great ball skills. Reminds me of Darko Milicic...who went too high,ahead of Melo,but is still in the league and will play 15 years in the NBA. At pick #12,that is a good value.

I would be more happy with Gesell having a Burke-like impact and Iowa contesting for a BIG title.
Zeller hasn't been the only difference for Indiana, they have stayed healthy, Zeller is a great player, but they still can't win on the road against anyone with a pulse.
Think about if Morris would have stayed at Michigan...would Burke have ended up at Iowa? He opened up his recruiting before Morris left and committed after Morris left with Iowa/Nebraska in his final three with UM. Obviously, it is a moot point, but fun to think about how he would have impacted Iowa basketball...that is why I hope for that same impact with Gesell.

again i see you making yourself to be the biggest fool on HN. tell you what you find another Top 100 pg That came into the BT to compare Gesell to in regards as to what type of expectation to have.
again both are very similar in many ways, the only detractor for Gesell that i can see is that Burke went to Michigam and Gesell is coming to Iowa.
but according to your defeatist or complete negative thought proccess. nobody but nobody is allowed to have a positive attitude
i do not talk about burke. he is solid and will be all frosh b1g. and probably runner up in the frosh of the yr. herby brings him up like we should expect gesell to have the same impact. i hope gesell does but i wont say he will. i expect gesell and clemmons to basically split time at point and combine to make up a much better pg spot than we have now. but being frosh you never know how they will react to the college game. they could go meyers leonard and do little to nothing as frosh or go the zeller route and completely turn around a team. my hope is they are an improvement over what we have now because marble is a subpar pg and cartwright is struggling so bad and hurt that i feel sorry for him.
