i think that assistant coach will be named the head coach really quickly after hoiberger is announced as the bulls coach.

God it must really suck to be a Cyclone fan. I find it hilarious that the guy whom Cyclone fans annointed as "The Mayor" doesn't even want to coach in Ames anymore. Even the Mayor used his alma mater as a stepping stone. So did Sanderson. They can't keep their good coaches, and they can't get rid of their awful ones.

Maybe the reason it's taking Hoiberg so long to announce that he's taking the Bulls job is because Pollard wanted to hold off as long as possible any talk of their bowl season for football.

I was thinking the exact same thing. No wonder their fan base is insecure and suffers from Jan Brady syndrome. The NBA was there anytime he wanted; given the roster he had coming back, he still couldn't even wait a year to bolt.

If he is going to go to the Bulls, I think he should wait until july or august to announce it. The longer he waits the better the recruiting will be.

Agreed. I just think the league now is about analytics/metrics, spacing and 3 pt. shooting. NBA teams now are rolling the dice with 1st time guys instead of recycling the same ol' dudes. FH is the prototype right now, I get the front office connection, but his pick of jobs would be there. You would think his loyalty to Iowa St. would trump anything he would have with the Bulls. Why not go all in next year and then leave?

because he wanted to coach the bulls more than the clowns. he didn't want 'any' nba job open next year - he wanted the bulls. who knows, but that is my guess. and again, the bulls job is open now - and it wouldn't be available next year - more than likely. the interview with the magic and pelicans were for bulls negotiation, period, end of story. to show them that he was not just going to take the bulls job no matter what the contract was. leveraging himself.

I do not know how old you are so this comparison/analogy may or may not make sense. Could this be ISU's version of Lute Olsen? Where the fishbowl simply becomes too much and you take any good offer and run. Kids could go to some suburban school in almost complete amonitity(sp?). As Mike23 and others have pointed out the Bulls roster isn't ideal for what FH wants to do. This isn't Steve Kerr stepping into the Golden St. job.

No he didn't want any NBA job, just the Bulls...or the T'Wolves..or the Magic...or the Pelicans...or the Warriors or Cavs jobs last year...really just any NBA job that was open.

when you have a love for a 'company' you have to show that you are willing to go somewhere else - at that same level - no? - to get your best deal? if they know you will go there if offered, just cause you 'love it' and is your 'dream job' - you are going to be taken advantage of in negotiations.
now obviously we have no idea - but you have to at least bluff at times to win in poker - and if i was a betting man i say he was bluffing with the other looks.
i'll bottom line it for you - the clownz are crying, and that is alright by me!

Back to the original question...I think it's about time Todd suckliter got back into coaching at the division one level. That would have to be pollards first call. I'm sure he would be able to fit the thoroughbreds they have into his system.
