Name that Iowa Freshman Point Guard

Sure you did, you brought it up over, and over and over again. There is literally one person who said that about assists, and you are the one who won't let it drop.

The funny thing is you remember how you told me that PPG, APG don't even matter? you said only "efficiency ratings" matter. Fact is Jordan has a better offensive rating than Moore.

You also told us to "wait until conference play" to see how Jordan does. Welp he has a 113 offensive rating in conference play, while Moore has a 78 offensive rating in conference play.

So far kenpom says that Jordan is better, that ain't my fault that Kenpom thinks that.

No you and PC are boys so I want to make sure we're all on the same page

No I was told we weren't allowed to mention Mike's assists so it's not fair to talk about Jordans. Like PC just said, not all assists are created equal so you saying an assist is an assist isn't going to fly with PC

You were also told by PC and everybody else on this board that it's dumb to compare Jordan's freshman stats with Mike's senior stats. Hasn't stop you yet. You might want to heed that advice first. Makes you look dumb.

Oh no that's not true. PC and Tierney told me we'd be better at the PG position this year compared to last

Am i really the only one who thinks some assists are the kind where the passer made the play happen and some are the kind where the shooter made it happen, yet both count as assists. So in order to distinguish between the two, you have to do something twins doesn't do. Watch the games.

I don't think Bohannon is a good passer because of his assist numbers. I think he's a good passer because I watch the games and see he makes good passes.

I agree. For example John Stockton, who was a great point guard in his own right, still got a lot of assists due to the mailman being one of the best finisher in the history of the NBA. Just pass it to the Mailman and let him dunk it over the defender in traffic.

Well if that is the case, PC can you go ahead and tell 5656 not to compare Mike's senior stats to Bohannon's freshman stats. It makes him look even dumber. Apparently he'll abide with your wishes. Trying to help you out 5656. You are struggling my man.

Mike last year was much better than our PG situation this year

There you go again. 4 year starting senior vs. Frosh. And while his defense was better, the overall contribution wasn't a ton better. I liked Mikey G, but he also had a Very veteran group around him his last 2 years, that matters quite a bit, no?

Mike was a solid point guard. So is Bohannon, with more upside in my opinion. Almost every analyst I've heard talk about him is impressed, but I'm sure your right.

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming....

Tremendous upside for Jordan. I am in the camp that think Mike G was better as a senior than Jordan as a freshman - but Jordan is better as a freshman than Mike was. Mike also never really made HUGE steps and I think the jury is still out on weather Jordan will, but he certainly seems poised to.

I am a Mike guy, I liked him, I thought he was a good PG. Like most college BB players he had his strengths and weaknesses. I do think he never really progressed as far as I thought he would. I felt after his Fr. year he had the potential to be a 10+ PPG guy and 4+ APG for the remaining part of his career. He was good defensively, but never really learned how to score. I think that was more about never being a good shooter looking back, as if he would have just pulled defender out, he could have opened up the floor for more drives, etc. Plus he could have scored more if he hit a better % of and took more 3 point shots.

What upside do you think Jordan has? Also I had more than one person tell me we'd be better at the PG position this year than last

I think more than likely senior Mike is a better individual player. But I'm not so sure he would make the team better. We would maybe be a slightly better team for the first 38 minutes. But if Michigan and Rutgers were still within striking distance in the last few minutes, we would be 0-4 in conference right now.

So what if 2 or 5 people thought Mike sucked and Jordan would be better. Quit parading around here and acting like that was the majority opinion, because it certainly wasn't.

The majority said that Mike as a Sr. was obviously better than what we had coming in/back. Looking back now, it is actually less of a fall off than I thought. Jordan replaced Mike's scoring and most of his assists, but we are not as good defensively.

I didn't say we would be better. I said it won't be hard to replace his production. Just like it'd not hard to replace Woody and AC. What killed us is replacing Uthoff. If our starting lineup was Cook, Bohannon, Moss, Jok, and Uthoff, we would be better than last year. We would probably have 2 losses right now and be ranked in the top 10.

I'll play. I believe he'll get better on defense, get better at reading defense, and continue to be a good 3 point shooter and very good at the free throw line. In summary, he has the skillset to improve.

I don't give 2 shites what you were told in speculation prior to the season. It's irrelevant now.

When analysts and most commentators praise the kid, it confirms my opinion. Literally noone confirms yours.
