Name that Iowa Freshman Point Guard

1. Dean Oliver
2. BJ Armstrong
3. Jordan Bohannon
4. Jeff Horner
5. Mike Gesell, although he was more two guard his frosh year, Marble and Clemmons ran more point.
6. Pierre Pierce, not really a true point just needed someone to bring it up the court basically.

You left Cully Payne off, at 8.7 and 3.8. He reminds me the most of Bohannon based on volume of shots taken and almost no steals for the number of minutes played. And can't say he wasn't "clutch" since he hit a half court buzzer beater once.

Yeah, what the hell? Pierce? This game/thread should just be deleted. WTF?

He was the point the guard that year, even though he was playing out of position and they acknowledged that all year that he would move when Horner got there (of course that ended up two years after his suspension). Reiner, Evans, Henderson, Recker and Pierce were the usual starters maybe Worley for Duez at some point.

Tony Freeman was another one I thought of but I don't think he played much his freshman year

He backed up Horner and Henderson, but didn't play enough to really count for this. Still averaged more points than BJ did though as a freshman. Jeff Peterson was another guy that had a lot of potential here when he was healthy, but then he ended up tranferring and then again as a graduate senior. Not a lot of guys that played at 3 power five schools in one career (Iowa, Arkansas, and Florida State) although he was his best his sophomore year here.

Winner
Forgot about Cully. But those numbers earned him all freshman team but that was a bad team

Will definitely take this freshman class of Pemsl, Bohanon, Moss, and Cook over that one with May, Cougill, and Payne. Man Lickliter sucked. Always remember.

Jordan doesn't specifically remind me of any of the guys listed. He is just a "different" type of player than any of those guys.

As far as career paths go, I could see him averaging a Dean Oliver type line over his career though. Average about 8-9 PPG with over 4 APG his Fr. year. Then his So-Sr year be a double digit scorer with over 4 APG each year.
