REO was my first concert I ever attended. Spring 1974. Surf Ballroom, Clear Lake IA.

This 1976 gem pivoted the group in a unique and different direction.
It came on the heels of "Stampede" which IMO was a dud.

It's my 2nd favorite Doobs album after "The Captain and Me."

Loved REO's early stuff -- not so much late '70s and after. That '74 show should have been really good.
 
'Minute by Minute' (1978) not too shabby of an album also. Still crank up the the song 'Dependin' on You' once in awhile.

There are a couple of groups that I've come to appreciate more throughout the years, and The Cars is one. I was always a fan, but now appreciate the nuances of how they blend rock with new wave/synth. Very cool stuff.

Another would be Hall & Oates. I always enjoyed their stuff but have come to appreciate the uniqueness of their sound, especially the early stuff. Nobody else really sounds like them. An interesting mix of soul and pop with addictive hooks.

I attended the “Staduim of Fire” concert last night with my family. The Jonas Brothers played.

The music was a little newer for me but the teenagers and college kids seemed really into. It was st Lavar Edwards Staduim where BYU plays.

At the end of the national anthem a squadron of fighter jets flew over and the concert managers shot off a small portion of fireworks.

Some of the fireworks tipped over and fired into the crowd onto the field and into the stands. A young cheerleader on the field was hit in the head and one also landed just two rows in front of us. No one in my family was injured but at least five people were hit. The show was delayed for about thirty minutes while paramedics attended to the injured.

I don’t know if Hill and his family were in attendance but evidence would support that he might have been as I didn’t think any receivers were hit. Ok, I couldn’t resist that one.

I was a little edgy at the end when the big fireworks show went off but there was no issues fortunately.

Last week we attended a concert in West Valley, Utah where Foreigner and Styx played. That concert was waaaaaaay better!!!!!

Speaking of BYU I think if their football team struggles this upcoming season they might be looking for a new head football coach.
