I decided to put together my 10 just to see how it shook out. Not easy. My criteria was what I'd want with me on a deserted island (favoring a little variety, not just "favorite" albums), and they had to be available on vinyl.

1. Led Zeppelin, "Remasters" 1990
2. Black Sabbath, "Paranoid" 1970
3. Elton John, "Diamonds" 2017
4. ELO, "All Over the World" 1987
5. Fleetwood Mac, "Rumours" 1977
6. Lynyrd Skynyrd,, "Pronounced" 1973
7. Bee Gees, "Greatest" 1979
8. Supertramp, "Breakfast in America" 1979
9. Van Morrison, "Moondance" (Deluxe version) 2023
10. Chris Stapleton, "Traveller" 2015

Can't believe I couldn't squeeze in Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Doors or Cream...

I cheated a bit with some compilation albums, but, really, how do you choose just one Zeppelin album?
Is this just individual songs?

1. Layla
2. Stairway to Heaven.
3. Across the Universe
3. Sin City (original with Gram Parsons and Emmy Lou)
4. Everybody's Talkin' At Me.
5. Strawberry Fields Forever Alternative 3 on the Anthology.
6. Helter Skelter on the Anthology or original
8. Back in the USSR.
9. The Boxer.
10. Wish You Were Here.

Vinyl albums

Astral Weeks by Van Morrison would be on my list of albums

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix would also be on the list

Any list of rock and roll Songs would certainly have:

Paint it Black and Jumping Jack Flash by the Stones

A few years ago, Astral would have been my Van choice, but have you heard the Deluxe version of the re-release of Moondance? Great compilation of his best, and audiophile-quality sound on vinyl.

Post your 10. If anything it's a fun process to work through it.

Gonna have to check the Deluxe Moondance which is certainly one of my favorites
I will be working on it

However there are thousands of albums/songs that are my faves

I Will Do The Work

And here I always thought Head East initally recorded this in 1978.

Music History Lesson

Damn

A true super group before Stewart went solo and Wood gravitated over to the Stones.

Here they come

Ronnie Wood solo

Ronnie Wood was the absolutely Perfect Rolling Stone

My favorite album cover art of all time is the Climax Blues Band's 1974 "Sense of Direction" -- a great album that actually holds up pretty well as it turns 50! I played lead trumpet in one of Iowa's best h.s. jazz bands during that time period, and had a huge Climax Blues Band replica sticker on my trumpet carrying case of their 'Stamp Album' cover from 1975. Very few bands synced up up sax/guitar solos like they did, which made their sound unique.

at the time, not so much now

Band on the Run -every song was good

Alan Parsons Project- I Robot

Pure Prairie League- Bustin Out

Marshal Tucker Where WeA Belong

Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall

Montrose- 3 songs

Country Joe McDonald - rock n roll music from the planet earth

ELO - A new world Record and Out of the Blue

REO Live

The Records

You cheated. That's 11.

Curious. You say "At the time..." What would you choose now?

"Band on the Run" was on my short list too. Great album.

I said "at the time" because I experience music online one song at a time. So its just differnt than putting the needle down and the begining and letting it play. I take a shot at it

1. REM - Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage: 1982-2011
2. Band on the Run
3. Dark Side of the Moon
4. I've discovered The Cure, but really only a handful of songs
5. Simon and Garfunkel - The Concert in Central Park
I'd have to keep thinkiing...but thats all I got for now

The thing about Pink Floyd is that I'm not in the mood for it that often.

Yeah, mood is a major driver for me in terms of what I'll listen to as well. Blues is a good example.

I definitely need to be in the right mood for country, and even then it's primarily the old stuff like Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, etc. I can listen to Chris Stapleton pretty much any time, but I don't really consider him country, more a fusion of several genres.
