Mr Morris, Meet Mr Lynch

I hope he's in Lynch's mug all day. I have a feeling Iowa will keep the corners sealed with the ends & not rush up field too much too fast, to keep Lynch in the middle. If Lynch then decides to run up field in the middle, hopefully Morris is their to greet him. Will Morris be assigned to keep Lynch contained all day? I remember seeing Iowa's ends play like this in the past, especially against running QB's. I.E. Illinoy with Juice, the Georgia Tech bowl game.

The linebackers and ends will be in his face all day. That is how orange bowls are won, that is how this will be won.

Simple assignment football. Stay in your gap and keep it in front of you. Mr. Morris will likely get several opportunities to greet Mr. Lynch up close and personal. As long as Mr. Morris doesn't over pursue Mr. Lynch, Mr. Lynch will not get to far and he will probably end up throwing the ball. They have a couple good WRs so DB play will be key for Hawkeye success.

If we do run a QB spy, I'd prefer it be Kirksey who draws that duty. Nothing against Morris, but Kirksey's more athletic and our best defender.

Kirksey's spot is the one that Iowa has typically used as their spy because it is typically the best athlete of the three.

Making plays behind the LOS, yeah, you can pad the stat # making tackles 5 yards downfield........I want to see Morris shedding blocks at the point of attack, dictating things.
