And they are who we all think they are...

Iowa will have at least two early entries and they are the two you think.

If AJ comes back we would have seen a season for the ages from him but it’s the right decision to get that money.

We would all love to have both those guys back for sure. However AJ and Wirfs are both NFL ready right now. Wirfs for one is an absolute monster, who I personally think will see his stock rise at the combine and be a top 10 pick. His size and strength will stand out ahead of the rest of the lineman. AJ has the size but a little more time and he will get much stronger and quicker. They can make all of these improvements over the next 8 months before pre season begins and will be making millions while doing it.

Did anyone see Wirfs pulling a Brandon Scherff and moving to guard in the NFL? Six foot five, which is only his listed height by the way, seems a little short to be an NFL offense tackle.

We will have to see how things go at the Underwear Olympics, better known as the combines.

Didn’t Scherff have short arms? Even when he was at Iowa many projected him to be a guard in the NFL. I think there were some footwork concerns as well.

Marc’s twitter post was just speculation at this point.

No one is disputing that Wirfs and AJ are NFL ready...the question is if they’re both top 10-15 or 25-30. If it’s the former, it’s a no brainer. If it’s the latter, then they’ve got a real choice. Leave and get decent money. Or stay and risk injury, but have a chance at life changing money....similar to how Gallery and Scherff went from Top 25 picks to Top 5 picks.

I get the sense the Morehouse has zero inside information. Based on expectation that Wirfs and AJE are both 1st rounders and potentially higher first rounders it’s a pretty safe bet that both of them go.

However both of them seem to love Iowa and so it wouldn’t be 100% out of the question if they stayed. At the end of the day you just can’t pass up that money, it’s the same reason Hockensen went after struggling with the decision.

I’d put odds at 5% Wirfs returns, and 15% AJE returns. Just tough to turn down 1st round money.

Stone is probably the real toss up at this point.

I have a real fear that if Stone leaves he may go undrafted. He isn’t Hooker...not even close honestly. And Hooker didn’t come off the board until Round 4. Hell, King wasn’t off the board until Round 5. Hopefully he listens to the right people and comes back.

Stone is smart and makes the occasional splash play, but, keeping it real, he is not an NFL-caliber player. No one would fault him for chasing his dream, but at best he's probably looking at the PS for some team.

Hopefully, the feedback he gets is realistic and helps him understand that he'd be better off focusing on his degree and finishing out a solid college career.
