MJ is LeBron's *****.

Ohhh and BTW Paxon and Kerr combined for over 1,200 3pt FG's in their career, so I guess they just hit a little over a half a ton of 3's.

Considering this whole argument can't be based on an entire career, I was talking about on a yearly basis. Mo hit 189 and 153 in consecutive seasons. Kerr had a high of 122. Paxson had a high of 52. Sounds like he didn't pass all that much - OR - lebrons shooters weren't really that bad.

Lebron, like a ***** that he was, gave up. So sorry.

So your rational is simply because Lebron is 2 inches taller and 35 pounds heavier right? Other than that you haven't given one reason why you think Jordan is Lebron's *****. He's not faster, can't jump higher, not a better defender, not a better scorer. I'll concede he's a better rebounder and has more assists. Maybe you weigh those attributes higher than others. Maybe because Lebron plays in an era where the overall athlete is more athletic than Jordan's era. I say that's counterbalanced by the fact that Lebron plays in an era where there's only one true defensive center, and allows easier access to the basket.

Other than that, it's an epic fail job on your part.

LBJ is bigger and stronger. LBJ is a much more versatile defender. He's capable of shutting down elite point guards, and he's also capable defending power forwards and even centers. He can guard five positions, MJ couldn't do that. As you've mentioned they are on about equal footing regarding scoring, and you've conceded LBJ is a better rebounder and passer. That seems like a pretty solid argument to me, much better than an "epic fail".

Do you even know what you are trying to argue right now? Cause this is just some circular logic ******** here.

No, you were saying Jordan had better shooters to pass to. I disagree.

I never said that.

I'm glad you posted this. People who make this argument demonstrate they have the Basketball IQ of salad dressing. There can never be made an intelligent argument for taking a forced bad shot over passing to a wide open teammate, especially in the NBA. Doing so isn't an indication of cowardice. People happily overlook the fact that MJ frequently passed to open teammates (or deferred) when the game was on the line. The only difference is that Steve Kerr and John Paxon frequently MADE their shots, as opposed to Mo Williams and Wally Sczcerbiak who didn't. For every one MJ over Ehlo or Russle there is one Paxon or Kerr for 3. That doesn't diminish Jordan as a player, nor does finding a wide open player in the fourth Q diminish LBJ.

Ill help you out Miss Ellen, here is what I said. Let's stay on topic here. You need to make a successful argument that its better to take a bad shot than to pass to an open teammate, and you need to somehow overcom the fact that even if it is bad to pass in that situation MJ also did it in critical situations in the finals. Good luck!

Duff you may be right in time but your need to try and prove Lebron is better than someone who played 20 years ago is hilarious. This thread is whats dumb about sports today...why does LBJ have to be compared to anyone? He is playing one of the best stretches in NBA history and most people who follow basketball arent enjoying it because they are having stupid impossible to win (either way) arguments like this one.

LeBron is a one of a kind player like we have never seen before. His game is unique and unlike anyone before him. Sit back and enjoy it

No he can't at least he can't do it with any success, stop being up false crap.

Actually during the playoffs last year multiple commentators said that very same thing, that he can guard and play all 5 positions on the floor and no one else in the league can do that. You can say it's wrong and that is your opinion but DuffMan isn't making that up.

Pretty sure that is what they do in all sports, anyone with any kind of success is compared to active and past players.

I think he can, but that is only because in the NBA today there are only 4 positions. PFs are now Centers. He would get abused by real centers in the day of Robinson, Ewing, Olajuwon, and especially Shaq.

That is a good point, those guys were extremely dominate in the paint and people always seem to forget "The Dream", he was the man. Also defense is a lost art in today's game.

Do you guys honestly think you would even know who Craig Hodges, Steve Kerr, John Paxon, Will Purdue, Luc Longley, Stacey King, Bill Cartwright, etc. if it wasn't for Jordan?

Scottie Pippen would have never been a top 5 player in the league on his own, it wasn't in his genes as evidenced by the Toni Kukoc incident, so he is no better than Wade, or worse.

A guy like Horace Grant would have been nothing more than Harvey Grant without Jordan.

So please don't give me the better team BS. Jordan would have done it on ANY team.

Steve Kerr was the poor man's John Stockton.

Bill Russell = Greatest ever

10 rings >>>> 6 rings

I hate the 6 rings argument and people saying, "MJ just wins". What was he doing the first 6 years of his career? Also, from MJ's Wikipedia page, talking about the 1st championship: "With Scottie Pippen developing into an All-Star, the Bulls had elevated their play." I guess I've been told for so long that MJ won those 1 on 5.
